I agree - Royal Carribean is the best! Their food is good, the atmosphere is wonderful, the rooms are big and immaculately clean... I can't say enough good things about them. I took the Mariner of the Seas (the line's second biggest ship now) early this year and had a great time.

If you're really looking for a family-oriented cruise (i.e. little kids), I would suggest checking out Disney Cruises.

Check out cruisecritic.com to get an idea of the different ships and cruise lines. I am including a link to my review of the trip I took. Have fun!

I took a cruise on Royal Caribbean from Port Canaveral a few months back. The ship was beautiful, but the staff/crew were kind of nasty, and the food was awful. I've heard that Disney is top of the line though. My aunt and uncle and their family took a Disney cruise a few years ago. They said that the food was excellent, the ship was beautiful, the staterooms were decently sized, and there was always plenty of stuff to do, especially for kids. It's a little more expensive than most lines, but I've heard it's well worth it. Carnival I've heard is really ghetto, so I wouldn't recommend that one.

Carnival Fantasy operates out of Port Canaveral. There are several different options but I chose the 5 night to Nassau, Turks, Grand Turks, Caicos and a private island. Nice ship, lots to do.

Disney is wonderful, but pricey. Still, you get what you pay for, and with Disney, it's first class all the way. They have package deals available for both the parks and the cruise, which is what we did. It was really worth it, they even bring you bags from your Disney resort room to the ship, so all you have to do is walk on board. Your luggage is already in your cabin. Like I said, Wonderful!

NCL has a ship that leave NYC on Sun and storps first in the Pt Canaveral before going to Miami Nassau and anotehr island. BUT you can arrange to start in Pt C. They have a casual dining set up that we liked, Check their site,
