Forget Haynes and Chiltons manuals. They are the comic books of the automotive repair business. If it has an automatic transmission, for a useful and complete manual go to www.atsg.com and go to the bookstore section. Complete diagrams and rebuilding instructions are included in their manuals. They also list all updates to the transmission to improve it's performance. If it's a standard transmission go to the dealer and get the shop manual. Money well spent.

Go to any auto parts store, book store or Wal-mart and buy either a Chilton or Haynes repair manual specific to the vehicle. If the tranny is an automatic, you might be better off getting a factory repair manual from a Ford dealer. (I personally prefer a Haynes manual to a Chilton.)

the easiest place would be a library with up to date books,, or go to an AutoZone or similar place and buy a repair manual for the particular vehicle!!
