I don't want to think of myself as someone not worth liking. I want to be fun, confident and strong but i feel very oppisite of that right now. Is there anyway that I can help myself out of this depression without medication? I don't want to be this way, but it just keeps coming at me nonstop, unrelenting even when i try to get out and have a good time. I look in the mirror and hate what i see. I think of the future and in my eyes it looks very dim, even though many tell me I could be a huge success in whatever i try to do. Please help know why i feel this way.
Thank you for your serious answers.

I feel the same way as you,but I know why i'm depressed all the time. The best advice I can give is to keep a journal of your feelings, and why you get sad. When you get sad it leads to depression,so if you can stop the sadness then you might stop the depression and pain. Also talk about it to someone you trust or a shrink or doctor of some sort.Cry it out if it helps.I find that animals are a gret help and they take away my depression-it's a strange healing feeling they give me,so maybe you could get a pet or volunteer at pet shelters so you could help the community,be around healing animals, and take your mind off of your depression.I hope i've helped.

Depression is a serious condition and if all else fails seek help from a doctor you can trust. They will not think anything of it as many people go through this at some point in their life. Aside from that a very wise teacher once told me the best way out is to really learn to know your self and appreciate everything you get to know. Do this and you will understand what it is others see in you that makes them think you are special.

I've dealt with the same issue for a large part of my life. I've thought about suicide, but decided I couldn't do that to my family and friends. I tried gambling, all that did was get me thousands of dollars and debt and feeling even worse. There's no one way to cure depression. It's a complete mindset. For a long time, longer than I care to admit, I sat down every night before I went to bed and wrote, not just thoughts and feelings, but a list of 10 positive things that happened that day. Those 10 things can be anything from going bowling, to someone cute smiled at me. It helps some. I also started writing, and it's not always happy things I write, but it helps get the down thoughts out and dealt with.

I'm sorry, but I can't help you out on why you are feeling this way. I realize that it's hard - I sometimes feel the same way. The only thing you can do, is get involved in things. Take up a hobby - paint, sing, work-out, whenever you feel this way to keep your mind out of deppression and onto something else. Talking to someone always helps, too! I don't mean a trip to any sort of pshyciatrist or anything, but you need to try to concentrate on other things. I hope I helped - you can always talk to me!

PLEASE consider talking to a doctor about your depression and medication possibilities. With meds, you might be feeling better within the month.

I don't really know the details of your situation, but i saw several therapists before i got meds - nothing i did helped. the problem was brain chemicals, and there was nothing i could do myself to change them.

I think you are working as hard as you can to get out of the depression. It is time you got some help.
