i was going to go on a diet that included 1600 calories a day in meals every two hours with plenty of vitamins, electrolytes, protein to reduce muscle loss. I am going to do three hours of light cardio then do about 45 minutes worth of weights. Is wanting to loose 20lbs in one month too much

I would say if you lose more than 5% of your total body mass in a month it's too much.

Losing 10% of your body weight in a month is about max.

If you weigh 200 pounds you can loose up to 20lb

it depends on how much you weigh right now - if you only 20 pounds overweight you shouldn't lose more than about 2 pounds per month, if you are like a 100 pounds overweight, 8 pounds per month is good - to lose 20 pounds per month you would have to be at least 200 lbs overweight. if you lose it too fast, it will come right back, soon as you stop your diet and exercise routine
