I did & I still do; but after having two children and learning day by day you take things in stride. God will never give you more than you can handle and you should always utilize whatever safety net you have available. Remember that you are not alone!

That thought never crossed my mind when I was pregnant. Then I had my son. He was the best baby in the world. Slept through the night from day one... never had eating problems... always smiling. Then he started walking. I really thought he was entering the terrible twos early. He is now 14 and in a juvenile detention center where they are trying to teach him how to behave.
Let me note that I have 3 other children that I have no problems with. Well, no problems as severe as his were. The diagnosed my son with adhd at 3. I didn't want him on meds. Then when he started kindergarten, they pretty much told me that they couldn't handle him without medication. I could never tell a difference with or without the meds. He still lies all the time and still has tantrums, but I think for the most part, the place he is in is doing him good, sort of. Then again, he has been there for 2 yrs and it is possible that he has just grown up on me. Children don't come with instruction manuals. If I could go back, I would like to say that I would have been more strict on him. It very well could have been me not disciplining enough. But, it's too late for what ifs... I am not trying to scare you. But you should be aware that this possible could happen to you.

You build a close and secure relationship with a child. You teach them love and trust, you pray for patience because God knows you need it. You be the best parent you can, by staying involved, supporting and loving and you thank God for them because being a Mom is the best. You cry when your little girl goes to college and you especially proud because she is going to be a doctor (in my case). You talk a lot, laugh and play baseball, you cook, clean and rub there backs. You did it all! I also have a wonderful son. You find the things you didn't thing you could handle, you could.
You raise your children to respect God, you, family, friends and others. You teach them to be kind to animals and be compassionate! You are always there for them and your door is open 24 -7's. You are there mentor, doctor, nurse, counselor, advice, financier and authoritative and friend
I believe if you do this that only question is how do I handle not having a child to deal with?

Anyone considering becoming a parent who does not ask themselves this question is not ready to be a parent.
We never really know the answer, but we can use the question as a jumping off place to evaluate what important and critical lessons we want to teach our children.
I remember so well as a child thinking, "I'll NEVER treat my kids like this when I am a mom." In some cases I kept that promise to myself.
The point is, we have to get ourselves under control before we can expect to control our children. WE have to be the grown-up.....ALL the time.

What exactly do you mean??? The manner in which you raise a child is going to be directly proportionate to how you are going to be able to handle them later. All kids have their periods of misbehavior. My daughter just started college. She's 18 now. She always got superb grades but she went thru her wild streak. You just kind of got to take in stride...the good with the bad...ya know???

I dont think so, and life threw me some curve balls with my 2 daughters. Medical problems that had me in fear, yelling/pleading with Dr's to find solutions. Dealing with that, almost everything else seems like gravy. Even the mothers curse that was placed upon me when I was 16 when my mom said"When you have children I hope they are just like you" thank goodness they are not.
How do you reason with it? One day at a time....

Do you mean before they were born? No, I didn't worry about that. I just wanted them to be born healthy.

As a child grows, you just see their personality developing and "go" with it. You learn parenting as you go, since there's no "guidebook" for it!

All children are different and may at times be "difficult," but as a parent you figure out what works. It's sometimes a question of trial and error.

I ask myself that daily. I am struggling with my 2 year okd son and some days i break down. He having trouble with daycare and the director is always diagnosing him and she doesn't have kids so she can't tell me what's what with mine. i try to be patient and show him as much love as i can and i pray and i ask for help at church. that's all i can do is rely on strength from God.

Yes. There is no reason. but if you love them you will get through it. Even if you don't like them while you get through it.
