write, exercise, run, find a friend to hug, watch a comedy, paint, go see a counselor, life coach, clergy, or someone who will just listen-

although drugs can help a great deal- there is a lot to be said for the negative power of ruminating thought- dwelling in the negative feelings. Find a way to release them. You are stronger than they are.

music, meditation, movement.

(Edit for clarification: I use two totally different types of meditation: One is positive visualization, followed by an assessment of strengths and weaknesses and formulation of an action plan. The other is seeking Nirvana, or contemplation of nothingness, simply being quiet, and allowing nothing into my thoughts. Thoughts do intrude, but the goal is to neutralize them and move forward on the path. The first is more effective, but neither is a quick fix)

Those have always helped me.

Some people find help with support groups, be they friends, or family, or an organized group.

Sometimes I visualize myself outside of this body, and looking at myself to try to comprehend. For depression, I just recognize it is that little gray guy who has come to visit, and that seems to neutralize the power of the depression.(Anthropomorphizing pain of all types is not new to the world. Lots of demons and religions have this in their roots).

If you come up with a better answer, pm me. I couldn't believe the incredibly bad year I had had, the worst in fifty years. Then on monday, things went to the incredibly bizarre.

Pray to the big nothing, to the spirt within. You cannot touch it, see, smell, hear it, but it is there. Ask for what you need and it will come.
