England is 18. It is stricly enforced though. If you are mature enough you probably wont have a problem. Nicer clubs and bars will check ID's if you look under 25 maybe. Few European countries will even bother with checking age though.

You have to be an adult - that means 18 or over to buy and drink alcohol* in pubs/bars etc, but you can legally drink in private at any age over 5.

While busy destination clubs/bars may check ID, as long as you look 18 you have no problems in most pubs.

*under 16 may consume alcohol bought by a parent or guardian
a restaurant etc with a meal and at the licensee's discretion

*16 and over may purchase beer, porter, cider, or perry with a meal in an eating area on licensed premises (In Scotland wine also)
