My husband and I are looking for a puppy or dog for under $500, if possible. We both really want a Teacup dog (usually weighing under 6 lbs) but we know those breeds are usually too expensive, so we won't be able to afford one. He wants one that is "cute, small, fluffy, and fat" (Never mind the fat part lol) I was looking in to something along the lines of maybe a Maltese, Morkie (maltese/yorkie mix) or Malti-poo (maltese/poodle mix). If you have any idea where I could find one around Lowell/Chelmsford MA that would be great.

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Yes, it's called an animal shelter or humane society. There are plenty of small breed dogs available for adoption there. And make sure you get it spayed or neutered!

Hey its cool that you know what you want, but if you can't find in your price range, go to the local kill shelter, save a dog from there, the dog will appreciate it and cherish you more and you'll feel better about it too.

Hey sometimes you might get lucky, I have seen shelters that get AKC registered pups just dropped off with everything paid for already.

The BEST place is:

a) go to PetsMart or PetCo and see if they have any
b) Check in the pet section of the local newspaper
c) Visit your Vets office or any veterinary office and check... Many times they will have a book with pictures of pets to give away or sell
d) I always get my pets at the city pound.. I go to death row there and select a sweet cat or dog to save its life.

I'm sure there's a puppy at your local Animal Shelter who doesn't want to die ... and is hoping you'll come.
