I thought about doing that --to relieve the stress and the hassle and the crap from family and friends and all of that. . .

and then I talked to a friend who did elope. At the time they wree married like 5 years I think.

She told me that she had always regretted it. And she said it would have been so simple to just follow through with a wedding.

So I did. . .

It's what you want to do. How much importance do you put on a big wedding?
Last week I performed a very intimate wedding with just the couple. My fiance had gone along for the ride. The couple invited him to the ceremony. My fiance ended up escorting the bride, giving her away. It was a VERY emotional, beautiful ceremony.

You can elope, have a small wedding or one that will be talked about through the ages.

I think it is better to elope for a variety of reasons.

1. Cheaper by far- you don't need to invite everyone or feed everyone
2. You can take your honeymoon right then
3. Less stress- not much to plan
4. No worrying about who is going to be in the wedding

Now a regular wedding also has its benefits- you have your family there to support you, friends and LOTS of gifts...

In the end though it would be up to you and your fiance. I say for Less headaches- go with elope. If you don't mind the stress of planning a wedding, go ahead and spend the time and money- it will be worth every penny....

My husband and I eloped and it was totally worth it. We told our families we were eloping, but it was just the two of us. IT WAS GREAT! Don't get me wrong, every once in a while I wish I had the big wedding with the white dress, but I didn't have to listen to one argument, calm one drunk family member, or spend months stressing out. It was a much calmer way to begin a married relationship. Try having a big reception 5 years later when you know each other inside and out. It will be a blast and all your friends can come and it will probably be more afordable by then. Good luck!

Peace&Love

anytime really i mean my dad and step mom eloped andthe only people that were there were their children. They eloped because everyone and their mother wanted to be in their wedding and it was their second marriage each so they really did not need a huge wedding. They got married under the london bridge in lake havasue city arizona. And then when they got home they had a reception for everyone. It was very romantic.

just elope, not worth the stress or money, a marriage isn't going to last any longer if you make a big fuss or elope, some peoples marriages last only a few months or years just like some people elope the same thing.

A ladder is cheaper.
Acutally you do not have to have a big expensive wedding. You can have a nice wedding on a budget.
