There isn't really any other way to have them....

Having children is an incredible experience and I think it exposes one to a number of emotions that would be hard to get in other ways. Being a parent opens a person's heart to the fullest, most unconditional type of love there is. Watching a child bloom and grow is incomparable!

But parenting is not easy. It takes a lot of patience, sensitivity, flexibility, not to mention money. Some people are probably better off not having children because they don't understand that once you're a parent, it's not "all about you" anymore. The child's welfare is most important.

It's a personal decision, of course, but I'm very glad I had my children!

That's a good question. One I wish a lot more people would ask before rushing into parenthood. It will totally change your life. A person should be honest with themselves. If they are selfish and like a lot of nice things and like their life, children are not for them. Children will make these people miserable. If a person is needy and looking for love, they should not have children. These people will be disappointed and become resentful, mean parents. If you love yourself, have reached a good place in your life, career, don't need to travel and be free, you might be ready.

It is stressful, it is expensive, it can pull at your heart and cause you more grief than anything you have ever known. Then your 3 year old looks at you and says "I lub you Mama" or your 7 year old brings home a project in which he has to tell what makes him proud, and he says "seeing my Mom smile." I think in the end, there will not have been a better thing I could have done with my life than raise these three wonderful beings.

Yes. They are loud and expensive, messy and inconvenient. But they cause your heart to grow, and give you an unmatched chance to experience love.

I can honestly say that I would have been a smaller person without kids--more self-centered, less able to understand people. It has helped me to understand my connection with my own parents and what they gave me--made me more grateful. Helped me to realize how fragile life is. It has benefitted me in a thousand ways--and my kids bless others as well, will continue to.

A thousand times, YES. Children are totally, WORTH IT.

It is great to have children but you can still have a fantastic and fulfilling life without them.

Dont feel you have to just because its the norm.

Yes. Unless you are really, really selfish, stupid or just really screwed up, then stay to yourself and don't multipy. Children are the greatest blessing every. My children are grown and I miss the little girls that I use to know.

I can't even stand other peoples' children. Despite what other people would say, I don't think it's for everyone, and it certainly is not for me!

I regard my dogs as "children" - all of the love, infinitely cuter, and none of the talking, annoyance, or lack of discipline!

Duh..
My Aunt has no kids. She's anti-social. Her husband bosses her around and he doesnt want kids so they can't have kids. SHe's the only one in the family with no kids.
Its absolutely worth it. To grow up and be proud of something that you helped throughout the years. It might be stressful, but if your too young it sucks. get married and have kids.
