They can go into heat anytime from 5 months old to 18 months old. The average for most dogs is 6 months. Small dogs tend to go in earlier then bigger dogs and giant breeds tend to go in later then smaller dogs. It is best to get her spayed before she goes in heat if at all possible. She will be much healthier and happier.

The average age a female puppy comes into heat is 6 months old. However, some dogs start as young as 4 months old and some larger breeds don't come into hear until 1-2 years old. The best time for the average owner to spay is just before 6 months.

A lot depends on the breed and there are a lot of answers to this question. I have a yellow lab that came into heat at 13 months. Every 6 months I have to put up with this and with pleasure because she is special.

Female dogs it varies but can happen as early as six months. If you are going to have her spayed which will help prolong her life span, Vets will normally charge less to spay a dog before her 1st heat....proud mom of three Goldens

A well-trained dog makes everyone happy, including his owner. Take a little time training him, and you'll never regret it; you'll always have an obedient dog by your side. Find more https://tinyurl.im/Jkx0g
By their nature, dogs are pack animals with a well-defined social order. Through basic training, you need to consistently make sure your puppy understands that you are the leader, not him. So in teaching him the basic rules, you take on the role of pack leader.
To fit into the family circle, your dog must be taught to recognize his name and such commands as come, heel, lie down and sit.

My dog was about 7 months old when she went into heat. But I think it depends on the breed.

Depends on the breed and on the dog. It can range from 6 months and up. if breeding, only breed after 3 years. if spaying, over 6 months but not much later, the sooner the better.
