some dogs have sensitive skin, it could be from laundry detergent if she laid on some clothes or sheets or something, or if she laid in some grass and there was pesticide sprayed recently, or maybe some ant bites, could be a bunch of things, you could give the dog benadryl 1 mg per pound if the dog is 50 pounds 50 mgs of benadryl, but it might make her a little sluggish. if it doesn't go away in a few hours, you might want to call your vet or an all night animal hospital, they usually will give advice over the phone, that's how I found out about the benadryl thing, my pit had some bumps on her belly and inner thighs and i was concerned, i gave her benadryl in some peanut butter so she would eat it and she was fine in an hour.

Does your dog have fleas? Is she outside in the grass alot? I have a golden lab that gets these same problems in the spring/summer. If my lab gets even one flea on her, she breaks out in a rash and chews at her skin until her hair falls out. She also has an allergic reaction to grass. If she rolls in the grass for long periods of time she begins to itch a lot. Our vet told us we could give her 1 25mg Benadryl for allergies.

Has she been exposed to type of lawn fertilizer or chemical? Have you recently changed her food? Bathed her recently that may have caused the rash?
It's hard to say exactly what the problem is but a visit to your vet will likely reveal the problem. Try to remember when the rash started and is it causing her to scratch? These are questions the vet may ask.

Oooh..that doesn't sound good. I'd take her to the vet, just to have it checked on. It sounds like a skin allergy or maybe even food allergy to something...it could even be a sort of infection or parasite. I would definatley have that checked out!

Why don't you ask the veterinarian who perscribed the antibiotics....
It could be anything ranging from allergies to parasites (something OTHER than fleas/ticks) to bacterial infection.

My whippet had a similar rash once. Turns out she had gotten into a fire ant mound. I agree with the others, go see the vet.
