Besides sterility neutering your dog cuts down on the chance of prostitis in the future, it will also eliminate the possibility of testicular cancer. Neutering will help cut down on behavioural issues such as aggressiveness that are often associated with high testosterone (so less apt to fight) and stop him marking territory all through the house; it also usually stops them from travelling far distances as they are no longer interested in a ***** in heat.
If you are not going to breed it is really the better alternative.

Man, so many it is hard to pin down. They are not focused on other dogs, females in particular. They are healthier and part of the family more. If it is a Breed of dog that people may steal then he is useless to them neutered. and The list goes on. Do it. Not to mention you will not be adding to the over population problem.

Preventing unwanted puppies around the entire neighborhood. You will be doing a great favor to the world if you will have your dog neutered.'

A longer more docile life span. No fear of lifting his leg on your belongings and no dominance issues. We have always had our males neutered around 4-6 months and our boys always squatted to pee...the have no desire to mark their territory every 5 steps when you are out for a walk.

Health wise it will eliminate testicular cancer. He will live a healthier, longer life on the average. And he won't be so quick to lift his leg to mark territory or embarass you by humping family and guests. You'll find he won't be darting out the door to find that female in heat that he smells.

Overall you'll have a happier, healthier dog.

No unwanted puppies, and he'll be a calmer, cleaner pet, much less likely to bite and fight than an unneutered dog. All pets should be neutered.

Your dog will be calmer, less likely to roam, less territorial, easier to handle, less likely to engage in sexual behaviors such as "humping" and marking territory with urine. Your dog will never get reproductive cancers, will probably be happier, will not be contributing to the population of unwanted dogs in this country, and you will be considered a responsible dog owner!

No unexpected little floppy eared bundles of joy at the neighbors house, and Fido (or Ralph, or Spike, or Noodles ) will stick closer to home.

It just makes life easier as a whole! You won't have to worry about him just happening to breed another dog, and, in some dogs, it even regulates their personality so they aren't so...aggressive/bold.
