Hm...interesting question. I think Mexicans are too tempered and hot-blooded to remain faithful to one woman. The ones I know all change women frequently, have babies from different ones and some even go to prostitutes, while involved in a relationship.
Of course it's a personal issue, I'm sure there are good husbands among Mexicans, I just haven't met even one.
Also, my impression is that Mexican culture is all about having fun for the moment, making sex and lots of babies, but carrying responsibility ... don't bother them. They don't know what love is, it's all about sex on the most primitive level.

I am not married to a Mexican, my husband is Spanish and a great guy....But my dad is a Mexican and he is the best husband to my mom and dad I could ever wish for....

So, no not all Mexicans make bad husbands.....

Some Mexican men can be macho's.......I think education is the key in helping people become better human beings....

Not all Mexican men make bad husbands. I know a handful who don't. Well, okay, two, and they don't know each other.

However, a large number of them assume that adulterous affairs are their basic male right. Also, they still have a serious drinking problem. And, they expect their wives to kiss their Royal Rear-ends and wait on them hand and foot.

I spend more than half of my time in rural Mexico.

I see these illegals come back with lots of money by rural Mexican standards. They buy a nice pickup, put in a big stereo, and lots of toys. And, all the time their wives are still washing clothes by hand.

But, you asked for reasons, not details.

My niece in DF is a very intelligent woman. She said at one time she blamed the men for how they treated women. But, one day she watched a couple mothers in the park with their little sons.

They actually bragged just how macho these little brats were, strutting around, telling their moms what to do, and so forth.

Then, she remembered when she and her siblings were little kids, her brother got to go outside to play while her mom made the girls clean up his room and wash his clothes and make food for him.

And it came over her in a burst of inspiration. IT IS MOTHERS IN MEXICO WHO TEACH THEIR SONS TO BE JERKS!!!

I am 64. I look 64. Yet, local women "come on" to me. I was talking to a woman friend, the wife of my best friend. She asked me, "Do you think they want you because they think you are rich?"

I said, "Yes, of course."

She said, "That is not the reason at all. When your lavadero (Mexican Maytag) was outside in the yard because they were working on the house, the women walking by, saw you out there every morning washing and rinsing the clothes by hand, and putting them on the line for your wife. That's why half the women in town want you!"

Apparently, to those hard working women a man washing clothes for his wife is the feminine equivalent of a wife completamente desnuda on the bed when her husband walks in the house, from the male viewpoint.

I am going to try to be objective about this. I have never married a Mexican but I guess not all of them are bad but I do know that some of them think that it's ok to hit women. How could someone with that mentality be a good spouse? Some of my friends who date them tell me that they are very demanding and domineering. They don't think of a woman as a partner but a thing that they own. Seriously, I am not being an a$$ but how could you be a good husband if you feel you have the right to control your partner?

I have a many Hispanic girlfriends and their husbands treat them like gold. I did have one Mexican girlfriend and she married a white boy because of the male domination her father had over her mother. They are a very male dominant society. But as with everything else there is always an exception to the rule.

There are good and bad husbands in all nationalities! You think Scott Peterson and OJ should be the posterchildren for husbands in America? Killing wives is a sport lately, where have you been? I work with some Hispanic males whose wives love and respect them for being good mates and fathers. Male chauvinism is alive and well in the world!

um I've dated some in the past and I would not say that they would be bad at all. In fact they are great fathers some even better parents than the kids mother. I saw that recently.Some of the most romantic,sincere, men I've dated were Latino men , good question though make them come up with a reason.

Alot of the men here in the US illegally have a wife in Mexico and a girlfriend here also. So if that is the case what does that say about the man.

The ones I saw where I lived were drunk all the time. Only the women taking care of the kids, shopping, etc.
