Basically someone with blood type O is a universal doner, and someone with AB is a universal recipient. Here's a basic chart-thing to help sort it all out. A fuller description can be found in the link I provided. I hope this helps. This is using the RBC compatiblility table.

A+ blood type accepts A+, A-, O+, O-
A- blood type accepts A-, O-
B+ blood type accepts B+, B-, O+, O-
B- blood type accepts O-, B-
AB+ blood type accepts any blood type
AB- blood type accepts A-, B-, AB-, O-
O+ blood type accepts O+, O-
O- blood type accepts only O-
