But do you know what? You are smart enough to know how to balance out the difference! You can gather up about 80% of what you lost by doing a million things to get it together again. The only thing is, it will take concentration to remember exactly what you need to go after and the time it will take you to reestablish it in your new format. Life has a way of helping us when we least expect it. You will find ways to reclaim so much of that, it will begin not be so upsetting to you as it obviously is right this minute. Sit down, calm down, and get really deliberate and figure out what you lost (before you forget it) and write it down so you can go on a recovery hunt later. Sent to you with good energies from Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A. (I am 63 years old.)

Set up a dual boot next time! I simply install windows and all the hardware and software I need on the primary hard drive. I do this before I ever log on to the net. I make sure everything is exactly as I want it. I then install a slave drive and copy the master to it. I then set my system to boot from the slave. If and when I have a disk failure, I either reformat the disk or replace it if broken and copy the contents back to it. Every one of my systems is done this way and it makes it so easy to repair them! Half hour and they are ready to go! You also might consider organizing all your files that you save in my documents. Burn my documents on occasion to make sure you dont lose anything!

We all do things like that from time to time, some more often than others - me for example, I lost my mp3 and ogg files last week.
A wise man once told me that it is caused by an illness that afflicts mankind, and it is called 'Plonkers Colic'

ok stop panicing. you can get, (ill post it to you) a programme designed to retrieve data from digital camrera cards..well ive also used it to recover data i lost when i reformatted my PC.
ok, so oyu loose all your headers, and it renames the files sequentially, and you have to sort them out, but it will recover data, even after a format. if you want it, email me. or you can goto (download.com) and get it yourself. its called recovery manager. look in the photographic section..and its free.
good luck

If you are an older person it could be called senility. If you are a younger person, it may be called to much hurry.
If neither of these categories fit then it may be called stupid. :)
