Household Uses Of Hydrogen Peroxide H2O2

Hydrogen peroxide is the only germicidal agent composed only of water and oxygen. Like ozone, it kills disease organisms by oxidation! Hydrogen peroxide is considered the worlds safest all natural effective sanitizer. It kills microorganisms by oxidizing them, which can be best described as a controlled burning process. Mouthwash: Use 3% hydrogen peroxide for germicidal mouthwash and throat gargle. While cleansing the mouth and throat, it destroys the bad bacteria. It also helps to clear up periodontal disease. Watch how white your teeth become!

Toothpaste: Use baking soda and add enough 3% hydrogen peroxide to make a paste. Or, just dip your brush in 3% hydrogen peroxide and brush.

Leftover tossed salad: Spray with a solution of 1/2 cup water and 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide. Drain, cover and refrigerate. Eliminates use of chemical preservatives.

Marinade: Place meat, fish or poultry in a casserole (avoid using aluminum pans). Cover with a diluted solution of 3% hydrogen peroxide. Place in a loosely covered container in refrigerator for 1/2 hour. Rinse and cook.

To freshen kitchen: Keep a spray bottle of 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide in the kitchen. Use to wipe off counter tops and appliances. It will disinfect and give the kitchen a clean, fresh small. Works great in the refrigerator and lunch boxes.

Humidifiers & steamers: Use 1 pint of 3% hydrogen peroxide to a gallon of water. This helps keep them clean too.

Laundry: Add 8 ounces of 3% hydrogen peroxide to your wash in place of bleaches.

Pets: For small animals (dogs and cats) use 1 ounce 3% hydrogen peroxide to 1 quart water for their drinking water and bath.

Please do not use peroxide for cleaning of a wound, unless there is nothing else available. Fresh water is fine and rubbing alcohol. Medical research within the past year has proven that although peroxide has been used to clean wounds, it will actually destroy healthy tissue surrounding the wound. This means that it will take longer for the wound to heal, and you will have more scarring. I have several friends who are nurses and my son is a doctor, so be careful.. It does make an excellent cleaner, is great as a mouth freshening rinse and use it as a natural whitener and freshener for laundry, just add a few capfuls to each wash load with your detergent. You should never use hydrogen peroxide to clean a wound. It damages the tissue and actually delays and prevents good healing. As for other uses ... it can be used as a mouthwash or as a mix with tooth-cleaning powder or hair lightener...... ???????

Don't put any ointments on piercing. if you don't want to mix your own solution, go to a pharmacy and buy "wound wash saline" or a product like H2Ocean. Walmart sells a H20cean like product as well. I wouldn't use Tea Tree Oil. it works for some, but is disastrous for others. Also, don't use antibacterial soap. That aftercare is 1999 and we have since learned it's bad for wounds. Thats why the bottle says external use only.

It is the basic ingredient in tooth whiteners - you can soak your toothbrush in it and then brush with regular (cheap) toothpaste to help whiten your teeth, or you can dilute it by about a third and use it as a prerinse before you brush your teeth. Only do this about once a week though because it is strong and can cause your gums to get sore if you use it too often.

Brushing your teeth, just don't swallow it. Also you could use it to bleach out your hair. That's where the term "Peroxide" blonde came from. I wouldn't recommend it though as your hair would get really dry.
