Rather than getting into a long discussion or writing an essay about why I am Pro-Choice, I will simply try and answer the question you asked.
Yes, I think we would see a rise in the numbers of unwanted children, and no, I don't think that the people who want to make abortion illegal will step up and adopt them.
Someone made a comment about Brazil, and abortion being illegal there. Well, they forgot to mention that Brazil has a tremendous problem with street children who have no one to care for them. They literally live on the streets, stealing, or doing little jobs, if available, to try and feed themselves and keep body and soul together. Often, they turn to more serious crime. My nephew was there for several years, and he told me that a lot of the problem stems from the fact that babies are simply abandoned at birth. There aren't enough social services to take care of them, so older children find them and rear them. I find the idea of an 8-year-old digging an infant out of a trash pile and raising it both noble and heartbreaking.
Yes, many people in the US want to adopt babies, but they want to adopt very specific babies: they want healthy babies, usually of the same ethnic background as themselves, and they want them to be infants. If you don't believe me, take a look at the different children's welfare societies' webpages--they are literally full of perfectly healthy children who missed the adoption boat because they are too old, the wrong color, or were born with problems associated with their mother's not being healthy during pregnancy. Yes, some of these children do make it into loving homes, but many do not. They stay in the custody of the state, and live in a series of foster homes, and never enjoy the feeling of being truly wanted or loved. They simply fall through the cracks. And that, to me, is a great tragedy.

Abortion was never made legal or illegal. The ruling was that women have the right to abort. The court ruled no moral or ethical standing on this act. In other words, the federal government found that according to the constitution the act of abortion is not a matter to be regulated by the federal government.
This ruling was made to ensure that women would be able to choose to make a healthy choice regarding abortion. Prior to this, most physiciansand hospitals were not performing abortions meaning most people who chose to have one would be in the hands of a physician with little experience and know-how in the field and a possible area that was non-sterile or would have to do it themself. Now if one chooses to make this decision they are putting harm only upon the child and not themself.
In regards, to some of your questions, we live in a very affluent society, there is no reason that childhood starvation or lack of care for such children should occur. If it were outlawed, it would be thew same as before the ruling was made, those who were desperate for one would do one illegaly, by an unlicensed/licensed physician or themself. The term "orphanage" is a poor choice of words for modern child care facilities, if these were provided money from the government and derived from the money for abortion services and facilities they could be very well managed centers for children. Similar facilities could exist for expectant mothers, and if you are unaware these already exist. You may have seen signs that say things like "Pregnant, Confused, Don't know what to do - We can help [Some Center]".
I personally believe abortion is wrong. Many people seem to be confused and think that there is a large difference between taking a coat hanger and sticking up there to kill the child, and the medical procedure done to perform an abortion. Basically the procedure is to take a stabbing instrument with a vacuum in it, and tearing apart the child's body and sucking it up leaving the head, which is then removed with some tongs; there is also a chemical procedure which is potentially harmful toward the mother and is basically the equivalent of throwing someone in a tub of acid, also there is a form of sonic procedure that is like being blasted apart piece by piece. Simply put it is a brutal form of killing a baby.

The sad thing is I have seen this argument so many times before and it does not change the facts. Abortion is killing for convenience. Nothing more. Am I wrong? look up the stats on it.
Hey, I know just for kicks and giggles lets get morals, oops, what are those. With society preaching Sex , Feel good when you want forget everyone else, and Money, this is the real problem.
Not that these children would not have homes because the facts are that they would, at the right time, if their parents would exercise control and good judgment. In this society this is the easiest way to find an excuse to erase the mistake you made and then You people tell them "oh don't worry, it is your body.your decision you have done nothing wrong." yet there still remains a torn up body of a little baby who's body was not taken into consideration and was simply, washed away.
Those are the facts. Do not put the murder of thousands of Babies on me because "Pro Choicer's" cannot take responsibility for what they do.
And do not use the Rape, and Incest thing with me, that happens alot less then people think and the few times it does the result is not usually pregnancy and when that happens it results to less then 1% of abortions performed in this country.

Extremely good points!!
There are many many couples waiting to adopt a child but most want happy and healthy babies. By adopting all the new borns, you find that other children are left behind. They will then grow up in homes which will, in turn, become overcrowded etc.
Another good point of course is the rape of a woman by a blood relative! I have heard that the babies can come out mentally and physically disabled, some having no real way of life! I think that is more of a waste of someones life. Who is really strong enough to willingly take on such a child?. I know I couldn't do it.
The other problem of course is that women will find other ways of aborting their babies. Whether this be a hot bath and a bottle of gin or some sicko taking their money to abort it with a dirty needle in a back street shed!
They are then offered no aftercare or counselling which a lot of women desperately need after having to make such a desicion.
It is all very well for the 'anti abortioners' to say it is murder etc but until they are faced with the same situations some women are in and then have to make such an awful decision as to whether to keep their child or not, they should keep their opinions to themselves!!

in the beginning why human beings save calling a fetus a splash one? it truly is an embryo, no longer an entire man or woman. no longer all human beings is religious or has the comparable recommendations concerning to the soul. So having an abortion isn't a homicide. I grew able the place abortion continues to be unlawful, my aunt died because of the fact of it, my mom just about died because of the fact of it. have been they murderers? no, they have been deserted by using their husband, and that they might basically no longer help economically yet another baby. It grew to become right into a no longer uncomplicated determination and a frightening one. on the instant I stay in a rustic the place abortion is likewise unlawful. nonetheless 2 years in the past, any lady (I recommend any, it truly is a 13 years previous woman) that had an abortion, grew to become into jailed, minimum of two years. Others much less fortunate died. Making abortion unlawful, isn't a situation for women persons that have funds, they only take the airplane to the united kingdom or Switzerland. additionally they are in a position to pay (a number of funds) for some good healthcare expert to make it in a secure place. yet women persons with much less factors, do it under undesirable situations, it truly isn't any shaggy dog tale and many times they die from an infection or from a bad hemorrhage. some women persons settle on on abortion for the wellbeing of the toddler be it for good value motives, or because of the fact the female is basically too youthful to be a confirm. it truly is easy to shout against abortion the place it truly is criminal, the effect of passing such regulation is like going back to the middle a while. Supposedly religions might desire to have no longer something to do with regulations. observe that the place abortion is unlawful interior the West a number of the inhabitants is very catholic.

Oh, my Dear One, if abortions become illegal, women will simply head back to the practices we had before it was legal. This means dangerous chemical and intrusive vaginal thingys (IE: coat hangers, small sticks etc.... knitting needles horrid isn't it), back alley abortionists, their friends. We now have the choice of going to a clean safe place to have an abortion. I also don't agree with abortion being used for every unwanted pregnancy but the reverse side is dead newborns in dumpsters or road side toilets or even worse -- abused until they die a pitiful death.
I would like to see both abstinence and birth control taught. If you can't use one, use the other for heaven's sake, but let the children have both! Kids have had sex since time immemorial with or without their parents' knowledge. As the older generation we still have to stand up for our own reproductive rights as well as those of the younger ones below us. The Religious Right would like to take it all away from us. We can't let them. Blessings on you, my Dear.

If abortions became illegal, then illegal unsafe abortions would become far more commonplace than they ever were. Someone might not like the thought of abortions being legal, but they'd have to agree that a licensed doctor should be able to provide his patient with a relatively safe procedure.
Folks against abortion shouldn't get one. Leave others alone.

I agree.
Banning abortion will increase the rate of unwanted and neglected children.
As result a lot of these children will grow up to be criminals and murderers.
So, what the pro-life people don't realize is that abortion actually saves lives by preventing future murder.
Of course the number of abortions should be minimized anyway, by effective and safe birth control such as condoms. But the right to choose should alway remain.

OK. So let's say euthanasia becomes legal in the next few years. Health care becomes so expensive it's cheaper to euthanize the retarded, handicapped, and elderly. For the sake of argument let's say it become legal. Let's say most Americans support it because health care becomes affordable, even free. Prescription medicine costs next to nothing.
it seems to me like if this were to happen it could have the potential of creating a lot more suffering in the world.
what do you think?

so you're basically saying
abortion:legalize it for the children?
im pretty sure there are quite a lot of people who want to adopt.
also im pretty sure any kid would pick life "shuffled through foster care" over not being born.
maybe if abortion was illegal people might make better desicions when it comes to having sex...hey it could happen
