THe rule of thumb is that kids can triple thieir weight in the first year, so he sounds ok to me. Is he able to do normal stuff for his age? Besides your Dr. will definatly mention it if his size percentile is in a danger zone. Don't worry kids all grow differently, but if it is a concern at his Dr. visit talk to the Dr. about your thoughts.

Looks like he's in the right range to me, but I'm not an MD.

There is no "right weight" for kids. If he eats well, has plenty of energy and is growing, than you don't have to worry. Your doctor will tell you if you need to be concerned, and suggest ways to help him gain weight. Only 3% of 2 year olds are smaller than my daughter but she runs nonstop and eats like there is no tommorow. People tell me all the time how she's so tiny for her age. The doctor isn't concerned and I've had to quit listening to people who tell me she's too small. If you are really worried, you could add pediasure to his diet.

Have you discussed this with your DR? I would say hes ok, sounds like hes tall. Hes almost 2, and alot of times you can go by their size clothing, if it says size 2 then your in the ball park. Don't let it discourage you, as long as hes active, running, playing and not alot of TV, hell be fine, but you may want to ask his Dr.

I would say yes, because every child has a different activity level and some do not progress as fast as others. As long as he isn't rapidly losing weight, I don't think you have anything to worry about; however, if it is something that does concern you, talk to the doctor.

He is totally normal. I have a 6 year old brother that still weighs only 50 pounds. My mom has always been worried about ihs weight but the doctors insist he is normal. I wouldn't worry about it. As long as he eats normally you have nothing to worry about!

It seems like he's in the 10th percentile in weight and 50th percentile in height. This doesn't seem like a problem to me unless he's been losing weight recently or not gaining any weight recently...

You have to consider what his weight and height were when he was born and through out. Were they proportionate? The doctor always(assuming you are bringing your baby to the pediatrician regularly for a check-up/immunization shots) monitor baby's weight, height and head circumference at every visit.

If your baby was skinny to begin with, don't worry but if he's either not gaining or losing weight, please bring him to a doctor.
Good luck !
