I think the idea is cool; pets don't have a choice about the color of their fur, and I'll bet they wish they could change it sometimes. But you really should call a vet & ask if hair dye for humans is safe for dogs before you take that big step. They won't charge you for answering a question like that. In fact, they are glad when people show care for their pets as people, and not just some possession. That said, for a small dog my vote is teal. A bigger dog might look better with a mix, like part red & part gold for a female, or electric blue & silver for a male.

what kind of pet?
giving food to your pet that isn't meant for your pet or putting any coloring on your pet may injure your pet and "you" would be responsible, i.e. jailtime and costs, and you might lose a pet that loves you.

Why not get a hobby, search the net for interesting things, start a business or just do something else to keep occupied. It sounds like you're bored.

First off, use food color dye because I don't believe it will cause harm to your pet. I would say mix it to a nice deep shade of purple, and just for kicks add a few fuschia highlights.

i really don't think hair dye is safe for dogs... their skin is different from human skin and you could give your dog an allergic reaction from the chemicals, or even burn him/her. check with your vet before you go doing something silly.... but if you find pet safe dye, leave it brown with some blonde highlights, sounds cute

It may not be safe to use human dye on dogs. Pick the colour you like and consult your vet first. Good luck.
