We have a boxer. He's our first one. We got him when he was 8 wks old and now he is 5 years old. He's very energetic when people come over. It's taken him to about this year to finally mellow out in general. He'll run like the wind when you open the front door and doesn't come back until he darn well feels like it or unless you drive toward him and open the car door. He jumps right in every time. Even if the neighbor does it or anyone else. He just hops in any random car if they open the door. Then of course, straight back to the house he goes. You would think he'd learn. ha ha
He's so sweet. Loves everyone. He talks a lot. He has these little sounds for different things. I just adore him. He comes up to me all the time and just sits down and puts his paw on me.
Tell me more about your little trouble maker....

I had one and she was fantastic. She was a real trouble maker.

I had sheep when the Foot&Mouth thing was going round and one of my sheep died. The vet said I had to burn the body incase it was Foot&Mouth so I put it on the fire. Later that day I walked into the kitchen to see my boxer had pulled the burnt sheep off the fire and dragged it into her bed. The top end was black and the bottom was still wooly. If that wasnt discusting enough, as I was standing there looking on in horror, she threw up a belly full of burn sheep onto the kitchen floor.

Quite a grose story but it was a funny memory that reminds me how much character she had. She had puppies too which was great, bit nicer than the sheep story!

Another story about her, I had a long haired cat that was not exactly the dogs best friend and they would never go near each other. But when the cat was asleep my dog used to quietly go up to her and eat the cats hair right off her back without waking it up! It was like she was geting back at the cat in her own little way.

Boxers are great dogs and I have had them all my life, 3 (excluding the puppies). The sheep and cat story one died but I still have her puppy who has just as much character. I hope you have a happy life with yours.

p.s I just read the previous poster. The car story is funny, I could never get mine out. It must be a boxer thing.

Omigosh!!! My boxer does the car thing, too! She has this thing for those squeaky hedgehogs that you can buy in all different colors, and she wiggles them around so fast that one time she was swinging around with it and she let go - right onto my sleeping cat perched on the sofa, needless to say, the cat fell backward in a whoosh of fur, and the dog was more than pleased with herself. Quite funny!
