Yesterday I got to play in my first varsity football game as a sophomore so I got nervous and was a little stressed out. When I got home my stomach was hurting a little bit and it felt like vomit was coming up my throat. I made myself throw up so I could get to sleep. My dad said it could be acid reflux and that he's had it before when he got stressed and ate the wrong foods. Today I've had the same symptoms on and off, but not as bad as last night. I don't get heartburn much and it's never bad. Could this be acid reflux? and what do I do about it?

The team had pizza at about 10:30 last night, I was fine on the ride home, we got back at 3:00 am and I was fine. I drank some gatorade and then the symptoms started right after that. I had gatorade earlier and was fine. My puke was greenish and it didn't look like food at all.

go to the GI doctor soon. this happened to me and now my esophagus is bad. i have to have surgery about every 7 weeks because my esophagus closes ( so i cant eat ). acid reflux can ruin the lining in your esophagus the same as it did to me. I have what is called G.E.R.D. Im only 17 years old and acid reflux in my opinion has ruined my high school years. i dont want to scare you but it can lead to more serious problems. but ive also had acid reflux since 8th grade and im a senior now... so its been a few years ive lived with it. also i had a surgery that stops acid reflux and you cant throw up. it lasted for quite some time but with all the other surgeries after it came on done. BUT GO TO THE DOCTOR! so he can give you a perscription for the acid. sorry if i spelled something wrong... im in a hurry
but i hope i helped!

Acid reflux would not look like food due to it literally being stomach acid that has found its way out and up. It does tend to show up more so after high stress enviornments or for more cronic sufferers after eating tomatoe products ( due to the acid levels) salt ( not sure why there it just happens ) sports drinks have high levels of salt. If you continue to have issues talk to your doctor to see if they can help you out. The most common symptoms are stomach pain or discomfort, burining in throat, nasuea, vomiting, and headache. The thing to do until you see the doctor is to get like Zantac not tums, tums only takes care of heart burn. Also try to talk the time to relax and remember theres always another day, so dont worry about getting all hyped up right now. Hope this helps you.

When you vomited, was it food or just acidic bile that came up? Acid reflux is a build up of the stomach acids that come up through the oesophagus because the valve does not close properly. The vomiting is usually due to stomach acid, not food. The only way to know for sure is to have a Dr. make a diagnosis, and even then, usually a referral to a gastric specialist confirms the diagnosis.

Try Prilosec. It is Over the Counter and it used to be a prescription. Take it as directed for a couple fo weeks and see if it gets better. GERD (acid reflux) is very serious in the long run. So be sure to get it treated. If Prilosec doesn't work, call your doctor. There are other medications that can work for you.

You should ask your doctor that and then come back and tell us because now you have us curious. I dream when I over eat (I no longer have acid reflux) so it seems reasonable to think that way.

THis could be, or you could have caught some stomach virus causing you to become nauseated and want to vomit. If it is reflux, over the counter meds like zantac or pepcid AC are good. Reflux symptoms are usually worse when you lay down or after you eat a heavy meal.

See a doctor. It sounds like it could be acid reflux, but a doctor can be sure. He can give you meds that will help.
