Physically addicted: NO.
Psychologically addicted: possibly, depends on the person. I smoked it for 9 years and stopped in ONE day with no withdrawals or side-effects, so what do you think?
And in no way is Marijuana related to alcoholism. The 12 step program is NOTHING but an attempt to Christianize people and I consider it bs. Stay as far away from 12 steps as you can unless you want dragged-down into guilt and Christianity!

It's possible to become addicted to anything - even food - if you have an addictive personality. People drink alcohol - but they aren't all alcoholics, and that's because they don't have an addictive nature. Same with cigarettes and marijuana. I smoked regular cigarettes for years - some days I felt like having a cigarette with a cup of coffee - most days I didn't. I don't smoke at all now - don't feel like it. Same with alcohol - once in a while I would have a martini or a glass of wine - even two. Now it doesn't interest me. But my sister, who is older than I am, drinks like a fish and smokes like a chimney. She can't go one whole day without a lot of both. She's hooked on narcotics. So go figure!

I don't think you can become addicted to m as you might some other drugs. The sensation of the high is just a feeling that one would like to have more often than drinking your brains out or getting hooked on something else. The different strains of marijuana can have a different affect on those who smoke it. It heightens your awareness of other things like tobacco smoke but addicted I would say no.

I smoked it every day for 20 years, from age 26 to 46.
Haven't had any since then (8 years) but if it were legal, I'd be first in line at the store. I love it.
So yes, I would say it's (psychologically) addictive.
Plus, messing with all the paraphernalia (pipes, bongs, roach clips and the like) is kinda fun, and so is passing a joint around. It's an addictive social interaction in itself.

You can't become physically addicted to marijuana, but you can be psychologically addicted to it.

No, marijuana isn't addictive. Addiction usually means an over-eagerness toward an object that spurs compulsive action. When you smoke pot, there isn't much eagerness or action, just alot of grubbing, sleeping and giggling.

Judging by your name, I'd say you are.
I think it's totally possible to become addicted. If you need it every day, if you think about it frequently, then I'd say you're addicted.
