Are nicer? I've had 4 my whole life, my first one; green body yellow head (very sweet) and so was the blue one with black stripes, they were the nicest and easiest to train. one flew away one day, she was on my screen door waithing for me to come home and I opened the door and didnt see her\him. I cried forever!!!

The mean ones; solid white, bite the **** out of me everytime I tried to put my hand in the cage so I threw it out the back door, the other yellow with white stripes.

So is it different with M\F? If so how can I tell the difference? I know the color above the beak tells, but I forgot.

A blue cere' (the color above the beek) indicartes a male budgie. It is not the color of the bird, bt the way in which he was raised. Budgeis that are tamed and handled early in their llives are far much more frienly than those who have never been handled. Trey getting ne from a private breeder rather than a pet store. They are usually much more "people' oriented than those that have grown up on their own with just other birds for playmates.

Parakeets which have been handled and treated with kindness are nicer, but all parakeets have diff personalities. Throwing one out the back door (to almost certain death as birds raised as pets rarely survive if they escape) was a bad idea. You should have tried to find a new home for it. If it was biting you it wasn't beucase it wasn't nice, it was becuase it was scared! You should do some more research before considering getting more birds.

Parakeets (I'm assuming you mean budgies?) have different colours above their beaks. Blue indicates a boy and tan indicates a girl. Except in some of the colour mutations it can be hard to tell.

The blue above the beak signifys its a male. The color of the bird probably doesn't make a difference, some are just biters if they haven't been handeled when they were young. Don't throw any more birds out th back door. Give it away to someone with more patience.

Males have blue ceres, which are above the beak, and no, it doesnt matter, it depends on the bird.

There are tamed parakeets out there. That is your best bet.Sex doesn't matter when it comes to temperament. Good luck and really do a good search.
