Hello,
when I shut down my computer on standby and then return later to access it again . It gives me a blue, white screen with lot's of bla bla bla on it.
It is only for a short second on. The only thing sofar I was able to decipher was : If you out of hardware space than run defrag. Didto I did that.
Than further, your BIOS needs updating?? Is this caused by a virus or an internal problem of the BIOS system.? I have a Sony PCV 7752 model. Desktop PC.
Please I need help , it's beginning to bug me. Any ideas where to go for upgrading BIOS?????

How much room do you have left on your HD? When was the last time you defrag'd and emptied the recycle bin?

1) Empty recycle bin and clear all temp folders.
2) Run your anti-virus, if that finds nothing...
3) Consult with a professional about the problem.

Updating the BIOS isn't complicated (perhaps check w/ sony and see if they've released an update), but shouldn't be necessary with a fairly new pc.

We've updated BIOS on *old* computers to get them to handle newer stuff, but new pcs tend not to have that issue.

There is the possibility that your RAM is corrupted and needs to be replaced. This is one of those issues that is hard to diagnos via the web.

PS AVG by Grisoft is a really, really good virus scanner (catches stuff Norton doesn't) and it's free for personal use. I've used it for years...

good question. sorry i don't have the answer but am interested in finding out what the source of the error is.

i think you might try running the defrag utility in safe mode to make sure there aren't any programs interfering with the process. as far as the BIOS, i think you can download that from the Sony website.

Upgrading the Bios, check who the motherboard manufacturer is, then you will determine the bios company, it sounds like shortage of harddrive space, and memory problems too. Have it checked professionally to determine what all it needs, don't leave the future of your pc to someone who may or may not know what they are talking about. Good Luck

Try going to the Sony web site, you should be able to update your BIOS from there. I know Dell site offers a BIOS update.
