my dad recently vidoed our family holiday and he didnt format the disk before he did it all and not it wotn "finalize" which is apparntly wht u need 2 do for it to work on all dvd players is there anyway i can get this on a dvd at all does anyone know?

This is a possibility as well...A disc requires some slack space at the end of it for finallizing the disc. If it is completely full, then it cannot be finalized. It can, however, have some dull content erased to free up the required space so that the disc can be finalized. Your manual should be able to give you the proper procedures for doing this very thing. I have made similar mistakes in DVD recordings. The only thing you can do is connect your camcorder to a separate DVD recorder and play the original DVD out of the camcorder. That is about the easiest and least complicated way to do it.
