I would concentrate your search on Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa.

- They are reliable, cheap to insure and parts are inexpensive.

Go to www.desperateseller.co.uk and www.autotrader.co.uk

Set the filters to:

seller: " trade and private"
min: "£500"
max: "£1000"
age: "up to 10 years old"
miles: "up to 40,000"
distance: "national search"
sort results by: "price low to high"

- Even within these tight parameters you'll have Fiestas and Corsas to choose from.

Good luck.

hi, to be truthful i might say the Yaris and Mini are women automobiles. Corsas are terrible automobiles, they lack character and are bland. The Clio, on the different hand, is astounding. in assessment to the Yaris and Corsa you will get them with leather-based seats and sensible contraptions alongside with computerized headlights and wipers. The Clio additionally seems the suitable. It seems mature and properly balanced while the Yaris is ungainly and the Corsa bland. The Clio is a stunning vehicle to force, cruising alongside the twin carriageway one minute and diving interior the direction of the bends on a B-highway the subsequent. There are a lot available too, so finding your perfect one would be somewhat elementary. There are a lot of engines available too, the a million.2 which would be much less costly to insure and the a million.5 diesel which does extra beneficial than fifty 5 MPG. they are basically 2 of them. I own a Renault Mégane which has been somewhat stable and that i certainly like it. somewhat delicate. My next vehicle will actual be yet another Renault. So standard i might say: a million. Renault Clio 2. Mini 3. Toyota Yaris 4. Vauxhall Corsa sturdy luck passing your try.

id say a peugeot 106 or a 306 as the diesel is very reliable but the petrols are faster you can also get a silver sporty version of the 106 and there very good cars and if something does go wrong then it wont be that much cost for parts
good luck

Go for a Ford Fiesta, sound, reliable.

Keep away from Punto's(look in any scrapyard)

Rover's are rubbish

both have head gasket history , not cheap to have repaired

Renault Clio's as you say are crap.

another good buy is a Corsa, nice and nippy.

I go for Ford Fiesta coz is cheap to run also parts are easy to get and cheap!! don't go for Renault, Fait or citroen and if you don't like Ford then go for Vauxhall Corsa they are a good cars and suitable for young people with low budget so go for either Ford Fiesta or Vauxhall Corsa and good luck. P.S I'm an ex car dealer.

ford fiesta's have been around for years for a very good reason !

ford shot themselves in the foot when they built such a cheap long lasting reliable car hence their attempt to replace it with the shoddy KA which was only introduced to excuse the increase in price of a new fiesta .

Sounds like your from England. Check into Ford Escort. It's a decent little car and gets great gas mileage. I do believe they were sold in England.

You should consider a micra cheap to run and good value for money. But you nust be prepared to spend a bit on it,and perhaps you could put money at one side for this.Always remember that safety is paramount.
