You have to be clear about who's the boss. This is important for the relationship and the dog's life literally depends on it. For a very young puppy ostracising him by ignoring and not responding (for a few minutes) after having loudly protested the injury should work, but for an older dog, like a three month old, the only way that I know will work is to grab it by the collar and lift it in the air by the collar. The dog will choke a little bit, but not too much and not dangerously. This must be done immediately after the offence so that the link is clear. Then ostracise the dog for a few minutes. Afterwards , let the dog know you love them.
You probably will only need to do this once. I've done it with a few dogs, it works. Lab crosses are really smart, too.

I have a doublewhammy mix dog - Blue Heeler & Border Collie. She's a herder so maybe there is some in your mix. She only nips at guys, I believe it's protective because she started when my son left home. I do the same as one of your other answers, but first I just try to stay between them & say "no bites". If I get sidetracked & she gets a good nip in, I hold her mouth and say NO! No btes and put her away for a couple minutes. Usually that's something that is in a herding breed. The other stupid answers on hitting, I hope you ignore re: ANY hitting That will only make your dog fear your hands even when you just want to give "loves".

From my own experience( I have had Labs for more thab 30 years) puppies nips that old bittes every thing they can reach first because they are teething and 2nd because they are playing. The best alternative apart from teaching them the order "NO" wich at this age they can already learn,is to give them a really big bone perhaps half the size of their head and they will love to be bitting it all the time. THEY PREFER BONES OVER ALMOST ANY OTHER THING. This way they wont bite shoes or furnitures and their teeth will be less sharp.

Potty education is often very difficult. I easily have an 11 week previous domestic dog stunning now. He has a designate place to circulate potty and we take him out on his leash and his leash hangs stunning by using the door. he's saved in a small part of the residing house. We made the blunders of giving him unfastened roam of the residing house the 1st 2 weeks we had him and he had a lot of injuries. the 2nd the gate went up, the injuries grew to alter into much less time-honored and he began asking to circulate outdoors. He has long previous days devoid of an twist of destiny. As for biting, you are going to be able to desire to be the dominant one. If he starts growling and snarling at you, placed him on his back and place ur hand firmly on his neck. this would possibly not injury him. place ur physique over him and firmly say his call and then No. If he gets too tough for the period of play, upward thrust up and walk away. forget approximately approximately him for 5 minutes. Oh, and feed ur domestic dog three times an afternoon, on the comparable situations. provide him water at particular situations of the day too. sturdy luck

My lab did the same thing. I tried holding mouth together, squirting with the water bottle, newspaper etc. Nothing worker. Only thing that worked was obedience training and maturity.

Hold is muzzle (mouth together) and firmly say "NO BITE!!". Sometimes if you do it right you'll get their lips between their teeth so they'll bite their lip (not hard) and he(she)'ll learn NOT TO NIP!!! But yes, he will grow out of it. It is just a playing stage, they dont mean anything by it.
HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

At that age, he's going to be teething and playful. But as with anything else he does that is not acceptable, you have to tell him "NO!" in a firm voice. Make sure he understands you're the boss.

Spend some time training with treats and repeat each request until he either learns or grows out of it.

You have to be the alfa male...gotta make the dog feel secondary. Best way to do that is to hold his food, and you eat first. Make sure he/she sees you eat first.
