I have a female and male dog that are both 4 months. I am worried that the male dog will "get on her" and she will become pregnant too early. When are they old enough so I can seperate them?

The female CAN NOT become pregnant at any time except when she is in heat. You can tell this because her ahemm rear end will start to swell & she will drip blood. This is most commonly at ablout 6-7 months and then about every 6 months from there on, but both those numbers can vary with the individual.

Female dogs generally come in heat at 4 to 5 months, so I would recommend separating your dogs as soon as possible.

Usually the hormones kick in about 6 months, some later, some earlier. I would suggest having them fixed, or at least one of them, specially of they are brother and sister.
