He never says "Thou shalt not smoke" but He wants us to prosper and be in health. Anything that affects physical health affects our spiritual health as well. "If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are." (1 Corinthians 3:17) This is enough for me, but consider also that Jesus said that if any man would follow Him they should deny themselves and take up His cross daily. Smoking isn't a necessity-it's self-gratification. But quitting smoking isn't going to earn brownie points for heaven either, salvation is through a relationship with God and he will give you the desire and power to quit if you ask Him!

Is there a verse in the Bible that says it is Right and ok? God suggests doing it for spiritual growth?
That is up to the person, I guess. If it is a sin, the sin is against God, not me. IF, it is a sin, I assure you, God and you will discuss this later, I'm sure.

After reading, I concluded that there was manipulation of the scripture in order to justify the smoking of weed.

i read the petition and i don't know that i agree with it 100%but i do think that smoking pot is wrong for ME i don;t pretend to know what is right or wrong for other people that is between them and god

Phhht, It's just pot. You smoke it to get to get a buzz. It is NOT the greatest thing since sliced bread, IMHO. Put the bong down and resubmit your question...

Yes it is. You are to honor your body and putting toxins in it that cause cancer and other disease is not the way to honor your body that God gave you.
