Islam is for all people, it came to unite humanity without racism. Ignore the sterotype for a few moments and see see why:
1) A liturgical language in which the original Qur'an was revealed has to have been one language. The Qur'an has now been translated into almost every major language. Just because Shakespeare is in old English, doesn't mean it can't be taught and enjoyed by readers worldwide.
2) Islam says itself that other books have been revealed in other languages- recognizing other cultures and peoples. The religion is not Arab-centric, it merely began and has its prayers preserved in Arabic.
3) Only 20% of the world's Muslims are Arabs. They still enjoy a full relationship with the Qur'an through translation and reflection on the tonal recitation and its soothing effect.
4) The same way that English is called a universal language, Muslims, no matter whether they speak Arabic or not, mostly learn Arabic to read the Qur'an. Thus, from many different backgrounds, they have a common language where the prayers are the same anywhere in the world and the greetings, so most people can do some basic communication to other worldwide Muslims in basic Arabic. We see this in the Hajj pilgrimage where 3-4 million come, mostly non-Arabs, but everyone in still happily roughly communicating.
5) No matter what language, talking to God through informal prayer is always done in one's own language, as well as a sermon. The emphasis is not on the spoken language.
6) Preserving the Qur'an is done by retaining the Arabic. Many of the world's scripture's originals have been lost in translations and constant changing. Many of them are in dead langauges while Arabic is very much around, growing, and not THAT different from today's Arabic. That was a pretty far claim- the Qur'an is just eloquent, and slang today is mostly simply bad Arabic.
7) Islam emphasizes that different peoples and races were created to get to know one another. The important thing is that it clearly put down racism, which no other religion clearly did, and eradicated partisanship. If it is done today, it is by cultural reasons and even when done by Muslims, is not Islamic.

muslims always claim that islam is for everyone, but I' m sure deep inside they know that it was only meant to the people, who used to live in arabia "what is known as ksa today". I 'm an Arab and I know that quran doesn't make sense from a language perspective. Being a muslim means that you have to pray in Arabic and read the quran in Arabic, without doing that in Arabic you are not a real muslim. Non-Arabs cannot be real muslims even if they believe in the concept of islam! look at it this way muslims refuse to say or write God when they talk about God in English they use the word Allah, which means God in Arabic.
by the way even muslims do not understand the quran, that's why their religious leaders refer things to the quran and other religious leaders say that quran say the exact opposite.

First my dear where did you get that figure, that 50% of Arabs can't understand Qur'an? Coz without a real study,I don't think that we can go further with your question.
Secondly, Islam is the only religon that the first disples of Its prophet were from different backgrounds. You have Bilal the Abscenian, who was a Black, you Had Suhaib Alroom, who was a Roman, and you have Salman Alfarsi, who was a Persian. They were all amongst the Discples of Prophet Muhammad. So Islam established and practiced Equality From its first days. Where the Messiah, Jesus said that he was only sent to the lost sheep of Israel, who were of one ethnicity.
And about l non-arabs understanding Qur'an, that was already well known In Islamic History. We had great scholars who were also of different ethnicities, like Sebawyeh who was a Persian, Imam Nafe' who was a black, and Ibn Abdelbar, who was an Andalucian.
I hope that Clarifies everything.

how do you know that 50% of arabs don't understand Quran? For a person to truly understand the Quran that person needs to read what is called a tafseer (which is basically the stories and meanings behind each verse, and when, where and why it was revealed) those tafseers are found in every language. The only times a person needs to read the qura'an in arabic is during prayer, but if they are reading it for educational purposes they can read the tafseer.

Well, let me tell you this. Islam is a religion anyone from any ethnicity, race or culture. Islam is a pure religion and bliss to this world esp. for those who follow the true word of God Almighty. Out of us, there are those that don't know much about Islam and those that know a lot about Islam. Muslims born into Muslim families don't know as much as Muslims who convert to Islam because those Muslims who were born into one have a confusion about the religion while Muslims that convert don't have this confusion and fully understand the Holy Quran and convert. That is why for instance Arabs who were born into Muslim families that know as much as those who have converted. Its like saying "I am Muslim but I drink". Muslims that are born into Muslim families don't convert fully into Islam.
Also, the Holy Quran is written in an old Arabic dialect that existed 1400 years ago. Of course, people now won't understand the Quran and its meaning as easy as those who lived around the Prophet (PBUH). Anyway, there are Muslims that studied and memorised the Holy Quran by heart as well as those who know the meanings by heart.

I dont believe it.
This question comes after 9/11 and the awareness about islamists to the world.
I can guarantee you the muslims know what they have been taught. Let us not make excuses for them because they have indulged in huge conspiracies to act criminally, and violate other people's human rights.
How come all of a sudden muslims talk of pluralistic societies when all they have done is destroy pluralism and destroyed other people's souls.
How come all of a sudden women in islam are being brought forward to hide the criminal activities of this religion.
India and Hindus gave them 1000 years to sort themselves out. They did not. They raped me. That was enough.
The muslims are cunning, very very cunning people.

I am not aware of this being a statement of the majority of Muslims.I am,however aware that the Prophet Muhammad,( Allah's Peace and Blessing upon him),was sent as a mercy to all of mankind, and that the Qur'an was sent for all people. But the religion of Islam, only Allah guides whom He wills to a path that is straight.
