You tell me I'm brainwashed. Well, let me tell you something sure some people told me some things but I wasn't capable of understanding. I was very confused and so I prayed for God to give me the answers and he did. I never thought I could be the person I am today. I am that someone because God is a God of mercy. You can tell me I'm brainwashed all you want but the fact is I know differently and so does my heavenly father. I just want you to know that I will pray for you all. Whether you believe in him or not he still loves you. You might think Christians are boring but we know how to have a good time just like you yet in a different way. You get high get drunk yeah I've done that to but I'd much rather be filled with the Holy Spirit. You go to partys I go to concerts and fellowship with other believers. There's just as many bands out there that make music just like the bands you listen to. Theres 2 differences 1 they sing about God 2 it means something to EVERYONE who hears it.GodBless

They don't know what they're missing, and there's no way they can unless they come through the Door. Words can't show them the glories we've seen, just like you can't show a blind man what a sunset looks like because he has no vocabulary for that experience. Peace...

I would say that Christians generally look the world to see the positive instead of the negative. This is a rather enduring quality that even the secular world should teach. If you consider for a second the circles of influence that exist in modern society, you realize that we change our entire mental perceptions to fit into a cliche. In some ways, that is brainwashing, in orders it is trying to fit in.

The fact that we submit ourselves to the different cultures of society and remain in them willingly is not brainwashing. However, the fact that we can never fully anticipate the consequences of being part of any one group could be considered brainwashing to a degree. When you are far enough into most groups to really know what they are about, then you have typically invested too much time to leave and just drop them even if you do not totally agree in who they are. Who is ever going to totally agree with any group they join? There will always be some difference.

So to finalize my answer, there is some "brainwashing" but it is no more so than joining any other group you know little about.

I'm not brainwashed, my life is lived to praise Him...in all things that I do. It is my goal in life to be a woman after God's own heart...like David was a man after God's own heart. If that makes me seem brainwashed that's fine with me. Let the world think that way...but, I'm Christ's and I have the Mind of Christ. For it is not I that lives but Christ who lives in me.

So the simple truth to your question is no, we're not... and what the world thinks doesn't matter. It's much better to live for Christ to die is gain.

Amen!

Nobody I know ever had a gun put to their head to go to church or was chained to a pew. Brainwashing occurs if you are a passive participant and dont question anything. The key to successful brainwashing is to make sure the subjects never question it.

The Christian religiob is very unique in that it encourages you to test the teaching and preaching you receive to see whether it is from God or not. Not just to happily take everything youre spoonfed.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

I think not only Christians could be accused of being brainwashed, they read aBook written by some other humans, some times the stories in the Bible are believed to be predictions, some of these stories were written after the facts they are depicting. Why is it some of those deeply religious people kill innocent bystanders ,after the killings they are called Zealots. There is no Superior being, wake up and take responsability for your own actions.

I don't think you are brainwashed. Be strong, and continue with your faith. People are always trying to find a way to discredit Christians and unfortunately some Christians help them out because they are not truly educated in what Christ meant for us to do on this Earth. I enjoy listening to christian music and find it comparable in quality of music to any secular group. People are always looking to do something, get that high (i am as guilty as the next) but there is only one thing that can fill the space we are trying to fill and that is Jesus Christ. Pray for me, please? My life needs to be turned upside down.

If you believe everything you are told (and they told you to pray and god would fix things), then you are brainwashed. Plain and simple.

Have you researched beyond your bible and your pastor about the origins of mankind and given it a fair shot... REALLY investigated it? I'd be willing to be you haven't. Have you considered that those who don't believe have valid points that have could be true? I'd be willing to bet you haven't.

You've taken one point of view... one belief system... and you believe every bit of it without considering there might be more out there.

I've read the bible, I've attended church, I've read everything I can get my hands on and have spoken to many church leaders... I've come to my own conclusions about this world... but only after I researched all avenues. That makes mine an educated decision rather than brainwashing.
