It must be pretty frustrating to ask for help and not receive it. I would suggest that you print the web page listed below and give it to your parents. Sometimes it's easier to not see something then it is to acknowledge it as a problem. Your parents mean well, they just don't understand. if you cannot receive the help you need from your parents, talk with the social worker at school. The social worker will be able to assess if you are , indeed, depressed. If further help is needed, she will become an advocate for you r send you to the school psychologist. [ All this assuming that you are in a school district where all of that is provided]

Don't give up seeking services for your self. Continue to speak with your parents about what you are honestly feeling. Sometimes we put on a face in front of people...do not do that. If they ask you what is wrong, tell them that you are feeling depressed and you cannot seem to shake it. That may motivate them to do something more than tell you to get up, go out side or something like that.
Stay encouraged.
Good Luck.

You do sound depressed. First, if you are feeling suicidal, PLEASE call a suicide hotline (like 1-800-suicide). Your parents don't seem too supportive, but that shouldn't stop you from getting help. Depending on how old you are, I would consider going to your school counselor, or confiding in an adult that you trust. That might be a good place to start. Also, depending on the city that you live in, you may be able to find a community mental health center, which could treat you for free or at a low cost. Here are some symptoms of depression:

* Persistent sad, anxious, or "empty" mood
* Feelings of hopelessness, pessimism
* Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness
* Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities that were once enjoyed, including sex
* Decreased energy, fatigue, being "slowed down"
* Difficulty concentrating, remembering, making decisions
* Insomnia, early-morning awakening, or oversleeping
* Appetite and/or weight loss or overeating and weight gain
* Thoughts of death or suicide; suicide attempts
* Restlessness, irritability
* Persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to treatment, such as headaches, digestive disorders, and chronic pain

Well you seem to know the signs well enough. Look if you think there is a problem then there is, you are the best judge of your mind and body. There are so many places to look for help. Call the kids help phone, even if you're an adult, they can tell you what's available in your area. Check online for The Samaritans, another group (non-religious) that has help lines to listen and all sorts of stuff. Get help right this second if you can. If you feel you might hurt yourself or someone else, tell someone and/or go to the hospital, right now. It sounds drastic but they're equipped for emergency counciling. Some people laugh because they think it couldn't happen to my kid...or that only "crazy" people feel this way. Not true on both counts. Nothing "crazy" about needing help.

I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. I say that you journal down what makes you feel so down. Write down everything that makes you feel depressed. What makes you wish you were dead? What makes you think everybody hates you? When you've finished writing, show your parents and talk to them. If they laugh at you and don't believe you, talk to a counselor at school. See if you can meet with a therapist. Good luck.

Those are for sure signs of depression, and it is something that is serious. It can make everything in your life feel awful, painful, diffcult. Maybe try just telling your parents how you feel instead of asking for therapy, they may just not have taken you seriously.
If not then just ask to see your family Dr. and talk to him/her about when you go in.
But for sure try and get help as soon as you can!

It does sound like depression, try talking to your parents again, tell them what is bothering you, apparantly something in your subconscious is trying to come out. Pay attention to your dreams. Even if they laugh talk to a counsler, if you are in school (don't know your age). Just talk to someone, even a preacher, or write down what is bothering you the most.

talk to your counselor at school..they can help you and also recommend help to your parents. If your parents don't follow through then the counselor can take some action.
