I actually had a really mean teacher, way back in 7th grade...she was so bad that all my upperclassmen friends warned me about her. She made me cry on more than one occasion...but I'm also pretty sensitive, too. I finally learned to pretty much do what dablaze said--shut up, be respectful, and do my best on my schoolwork. Basically, I kept my head down. I never did enjoy that class; in fact, I dreaded going to it every day...but I got thru it and didn't have to talk to her again after that. You'll get thru it too. Don't try to make the teacher like you--just be yourself, keep your head down, and do your work. Good luck! :)

Do well in this teacher's class. Ask questions, don't talk while other people are talking. Attend extra help as needed. Don't suck up because he/she will see right through you. Act pleasant. If the teacher is still mean, you should ask him/her about it and if that doesn't work, tell your parents and your counselor and/or principel. Maybe you can even switch out of his/her's class! Lol. Good luck!

Don't talk in class, take good notes, ask good questions, and to good on homework and exams. Always look like you are trying very hard. Say you have a special interest in the subject your teacher teaches. You're teacher's heart will soften immediately.

I had a mean teacher in the 6th grade. He had a reputation of kicking students desks, (many dents in his own desk too). throwing them and holding them up against lockers and held someone out the window. Nowadays he wouldn't get away with that. I just did what I had to do in his class and stayed away from him. He didn't bother me as long as I did my work. He was a miserable man and didn't have an ounce of kindness in him during school.

Do your work, do it well, pay attention in class, don't pass notes or talk on the teacher's time, and generally show that you care about that class and about learning. That's what a "mean" teacher expects. They are there to educate you, not to entertain you. They are there to be your instructor, not your buddy.

G'day Iluv2act94,
Thanks for your question.
I would try speaking with the teacher concerned and ask him or her politely what their problems are. You can try scheduling a private conference when you both have free periods.
I would then try to address their concerns.
Hopefully, if they see an improvement in your attitude and behaviour, they will warm to you. Don't overdo it and become a teachers pet.
I have attached some sources for your reference.
Regards

Be really quiet and pay attention to this person. Do, academically, what s/he wants. Teaching is often difficult and discouraging these days. Smile, lean forward, pay attention. Come in, sit down, get to work. Smile some more. Realize, this is a person. Show respect. Let this person see you are concerned.
Pray for your teacher. Pray for patience for yourself. As you enter and leave the room, bless this person in your heart.
And God bless you, kiddo.

First thing I'll tell you is DONT SUCK UP! That will just make him/her suspicious. Sit away from your friends if you think you might be tempted to talk. Raise your hand to answer questions. Greet him/her in a friendly way when you enter the room. Do good work. Behave. Then there will be no problems.

Kiss Kiss Kiss. Find out about the things that he/she really enjoys and talk about those things a lot like you really enjoy them. This should get you on his/her good side. Also compliment on something in the classroom or something he/she is wearing. Or maybe the football or basketball team that they like. Ask a lot of questions and seem genuine. He/she will love you !!!!! Good Luck :)

IF YOU ARE WORRY ABOUT A MEAN TEACHER LIKING YOU, YOU ARE HEADED FOR SOME SERIOUS PROBLEM. YOU DON'T NEED YOUR TEACHER TO LIKE YOU. YOU NEED YOUR TEACHER TO RESPECT YOU AND THE SAME FOR YOU. DON'T WORRY ABOUT HER LIKING YOU, YOU NEED TO GO TO SCHOOL AND LEARN. DO YOUR WORK, DO IT VERY WELL AND EVEN IF THAT TEACHER HATES YOU SHE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO HURT YOU, SHE WOULD HAVE TO RESPECT YOU. IF SHE IS ONE WITH AN OUNCE OF DIGNITY SHE WILL GIVE YOU YOUR RESPECT. AS LONG AS SHE DON'T MISTREAT YOU DON'T WORRY ABOUT HER NOT LIKING YOU. IT'S HER LOST BECAUSE FOR YOU TO EVEN BE CONCERN SHE GOT TO BE PUTTING A LOT OF ENERGY IN MAKING YOU FEEL BAD. PLEASE DON'T LET ANYONE BRING YOU DOWN I BET YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL OR YOU ARE HANDSOME WITH A GREAT PERSONALITY. SHE OR HE NEEDS TO CHECK HIM OR HERSELF. I'M VERY UPSET THAT A TEACHER WOULD ACTED IN A MANOR THAT WOULD PLACE YOU UNDER THAT KIND OF STRESS. PLEASE JUST DO YOUR WORK AND KEEP YOUR HEAD TO THE SKY SHE MIGHT NEED YOU ONE DAY AND YOU BE THE BIGGER PERSON AND "JUST REACH OUT, IT WON'T HURT" YOU CAN WEAR THIS ON ONE OF YOUR T-SHIRT. GOOD LUCK.
