He was a Christian theologian and author. Supposedly he was an atheist and was converted, so naturally Christians love him. He wrote the Narnia books, which have a Christian slant. He also wrote one of the saddest books I ever read, called "A Grief Remembered" about when his wife died. They made a movie about it called "Shadowlands".
He was also a close friend of JRR Tolkien, of Lord of the Rings fame - they were both devout Catholics.

C S Lewis wrote "Mere Christianity"-its an apologetic book for the super-intellectual. Even smart people need a little help. He also wrote several other books.

C. S. Lewis is living proof of the power and existence of God. To come from total disbelief in him to an absolute surity that he exists. Lewis didn't prove God because he wanted to but because he tried so hard not too. He tried so hard to decredit the evidence and still ended up a believer, it's a beautiful thing to come to know the true God :)

Because he was a brilliant intellectual and there aren't that many of those who are Christian in the modern era.
Because he was a brilliant intellectual who wrote books they could understand and which support the way Christians think and feel (well, some of them at least).

He was an atheist who set out to prove God didn't exist, and ended up through logic becoming convinced of the existence of the God of the Bible. His writings are biblically based and quite insightful. Plus the Narnia stories are cool.

The Chronicles of Narnia actually borrow quite extensively from
the bible.
The faithful find comfort and validation in his stories.

I enjoy reading his books. They are so well written that I feel I am part of the book. He is a good writer. Period. Read the first book of the Left behind series, maybe you will understand him better.

i was going to go see the movie, but when i hears that [SANTA-CLAUS] was in it ...ackkkkkk,
every one has [imagination] and when i use to be a christian , i had christian day dreams and wonderings,. the preachers truly believe in their own trip, and will fight for it.
truth is on a ladder, there are bottom rung truths...their middle rung truths....top rung truths......and over the top rung truths. a child believes that Santa-clause is true...because of there limited mind.....adults believe , in work ,play, sports ,and religion...and the gods and goddesses......BELIEVE IN COSMIC TRUTHS.
most generally...TRUTH--IS--TRUTH, but there are [higher truths], and [lower truths]and Mr C.S. Lewis....imagined a>>> fantasy<<, world according to HIS LEVEL OF BELIEF, AND TRUTH:)
______________________________________
Christians may like him...because his storys [fits ] with their level of truth.....a modern day [parable]...Christians love stories
