When I run my fingers across my hamstrings (with my leg straight out), I can feel a good amount of bumps or lumpy tissue, particularly on the inner thighs. What is this? Is it normal?

By the way, please don't say cellulite. I'm talking about solid tissue on the surface of the muscle and behind the knee. Besides, I'm a quite healthy 22/m and weight 156lbs.

Are you sure you don't have a thin layer of cellulite over the muscles? The hamstrings are a place where fat and cellulite gather first and disappear last. Even after dieting heavily, it is not unusual to have some fat deposits left behind.

Or perhaps you are just feeling the muscle fibers?
