In many ways yes faith does control God, because God is just another fake creation by man.

Humanity has created many Gods, for example – Gods of Olympus, Ancient Egypt, Babylon and so on. Most of us are atheists about most Gods humanity has created, except the latest craze, the current God in the Bible. Learned atheists have also rejected this version of a God, but some hard-core believers still hang on, presumably until a better image of God is created by man.

Faith in God seems to be nothing more than humans attempting to run away from reality, an excuse to avoid thinking and evaluating evidence. Faith is just an emotional escape and really just a substitute for opening your eyes to reason.

Believers talk about God creating man in his own image. It’s in the Bible so it’s fact – get a grip, get real. The facts suggest the exact opposite. Man created God in his own image. I’m sure humanity will disregard this God, as they have disregarded all previous Gods, it’s just a matter of time before humanity creates another God that better serves their emotions and image.

Nope, people control God, or should I say, people think they have control over God. If god exists then why do you have so many people out there sprouting 'your gonna go to hell for that', or 'thats not what the bible says' (forgetting the fact that what it means to you and the next person is different). God is controlled by individuals which inturn control masses. What God said or didnt say is entirely up to the person reading the bible and the proceeding interpertation. For instance, do you have faith in your pastor/bishop/rev/minister? Do you have faith in them that they are telling you the exact meaning the words contained within the bible? Or are they, on a sunday, preaching on THEIR interperation of the bible? Faith in this instance is no more a personal thing than the faith being preached to them.

Anyway, what is faith? Its just another word for trust and in that respect do you trust everything that you read and everything that you are told? Who do you trust most in your life, dont know about you, but I trust myself the most therefore I can only have faith in myself or (if I was religious) in my own personal relationship with a God that was not bound by the teachings and interperations of another.

Faith is merely a way of describing the way in which we feel that god is with us, and an expression of our belief that he is the divine being and not just a creation of greedy church men back in the days of robin hood!
There are certain stories that involve the idea that gods need faith to exist, in a kind of symbiotic relationship with the beleiver, and that this in itself confers an identity on the god. For example, in the early chrisitian church all services and rites of worship were male dominated, so we see god as a man in depications. Also, we see on a modern crucifix that Jesus is a white male...Why? Jesus was a Jewish man brought up in jerusalem, so why doesnt he a least have some sort of tan? We see gods in the mould that we put them in due to our belief in them, was the point that these stories try to get across. May i also point out to anyone who might be offended that they were all fictional. (for example, see small gods by terry pratchett).
The point is, people can have faith and lead normal, everyday lives without trying to control their god. Prayer is a tenet of faith, and if we could control god through the power of prayer, i imagine there would be a whole lot more lottery winners in the world de to numerous people wishing for the lucky six numbers! I know i would be!!!.

Billy that's such a great question.

No i don't think faith does control God, after all God is the creator, and every part of the universe is held together by him. There are some metaphysical cults that say we can manipulate God with faith, and that certain laws when brought into action with the human mind and speaking out of words can actually create. I don't agree by the way lol

Wow, what a terrific, but simple question!

First, I will say that nothing controls God. He does what he pleases. However, with regard to faith, he has made an offer: if we put faith in Christ, we receive salvation and the hope of resurrection.

We need to understand that faith is not an emotion. You can walk in faith while feeling totally chicken and doubtful inside. The thing is putting your footsteps in the ones that you would take if the thing you are trusting was real. Because it IS real, even if invisible. If I am tempted to sin, I can say, "Okay, I feel like sinning. But I know that I am a new creation in Christ and no longer have to do this destructive thing. He loves me and I will rule and reign with him. This thing I'm looking at doing doesn't really fit with who I am in Christ, so I am going to act like what I really am instead." That's faith.

Faith can not control God, He controls everything, faith was given to us as an attribute to trust in Him. God is the Creator of all that was made and not made,He gave us faith and not the other way round.hope this answers your question.

Your not really controlling GOD, you are using your FAITH to tie into what HE has already Provided.
Example:
Healing.
1. GOD can do it for you if your able to Recieve it and IF HE is able to do it(we interfer with GOD trying to help us alot).
2. You can Recieve it yourself by using your FAITH.
Healing is Tricky and once you get it, you can Lose it if your not careful.
Every body thinks GOD will do Everything for Everybody, and then Blames GOD when things dont happen. GOD was kicked out of the Creation by Adam, and is on the Outside Helping on the Inside. If GOD had never been kicked out, there would be no sickness and disease and birth defects etc.
GOD helps Mostly by People Praying.
Hope this helps.

No, I don't believe faith controls God because he is outside of any form of control and he controls all things. I do think, though, that faith can cause God to change his mind, it can cause him to work on your behalf and it can help you to think positively in a very negative situation.
