Yes. If you brought children into the world you are expected to support them...even when you leave them. Is the State of Minnesota responsible for them? No. Many men work below the poverty line thinking they won't have to pay...they work under the table and the State Welfare Office knows this. They know all the tricks...have heard it all and there is nothing new under the sun. If they (State) have to pay to support your kids they will get their money out of you, as they should. It is public money and the public is sick and tired of dead beat parents who skip out on their kids and having to deal with multiple problems as a result of your skipping out. Social programs have had to be established all at the cost to the Minnesota taxpayers who are struggling with their own financial problems.

You are responsible for child support no matter what your income is or where you live. It is based on your income, but you have to pay it regardless.

the % varies from state to state. It is based on your income. You would have to pay something unless you are disabled or somehow unable to work.
