A direct flight by commercial airliner is about four and a half hours in the air. You must also allow time for parking (if you drive), ticketing, security, layovers, deboarding, luggage retrieval, and getting a cab, bus, etc. This trip can easily kill a whole work day or longer.

The flight itself is about 4 hours, just a little over. (Almost four and a half) But, you also are adding three hours on because of a time change. If you leave Sacramento at noon you won't get to Atlanta until about 7:30 that night. Also, don't forget time for security, check points, etc!

About 4 hrs and you would lose 3 hours to time change so it would be 7 in all.

Probably no more than four hours non-stop, but times will vary depending on what time you fly and what airlines. Cross-country non-stop flights are a rarity.
