I have had good results with a few different herbs. not to push the brand but my aunt is a medical doctor and she recommended the following from Naturessunshine.com 5-HTTP Power,Balanced Bcomplex, and Korean Ginseng, and an occaisional Nutra -calm it has made dramatic improvements in my state of mind if you no what I mean.

However I do still take a regament of prescribed as well , went thru hell trying to get 7 different kinds of anti deppressant's
turns out my metobolism was to slow and every time the doctors would increase my dosage , symptoms would get worse instead of better my body would convert .25 mg into 100mg of anything I would take. ''may explain the missing college days''.

When this is finally over it will make a great book , there are millions of people out there with this ,you are not alone.Dont stop the meds to soon.

Accupunture works miracles
good luck

St. John's wort was known to such ancient authorities on medicinal plants as Dioscorides and Hippocrates; indeed it is described and recommended as a useful remedy in all of the herbals down through the Middle Ages. But as with many plant drugs, it fell into disrepute in the late nineteenth century and was nearly forgotten. Quite recently, a tea prepared from the herb acquired a renewed reputation, particularly in Europe, as an effective nerve tonic, useful in cases of anxiety, depression, and unrest. Users also value it internally as a diuretic and in the treatment of various conditions, ranging from insomnia to gastritis.

Some people have reported good effects from Valerian root, the active ingedient is the basis for Valium, but at a far higher concentration. Also, simply learning to be still, to be quiet inside, knowing there is no lion around the corner ready to eat you alive.
Some people also report spending time in a forest camping. The first night can be a B***H, but soon you will calm down and enjoy the serenity of nature, and nature's sounds and natural schedules. In other words, no stress, back to basics. Of course you will need to be knowledgable about living in the 'wilderness', and know basic survival techniques to stay out of dangerous situations that might come up. There are thousands of sites on the web, and thousands of books you can find at your local library about camping. Works for me! G.

yes, There's a tea called easy now, use lavender oil, you can make tea out of a herb called tila, also chamomile is great too.

I use to get panic attacks and anxiety problems, went to a doctor and he recommend the following:

Anxiety is cause by your life style so...

1) Try get up always at the same time even on weekends. Make a routine everyday when you get up, like open your blinds and let the sun in your face, exercise!, drink water, etc...

2) DO NOT DRINK or Take any caffeine (if not possible, at least dont drink caffeine after 1pm)

3) Go to bed everyday at the same time, rub lavender oil in your neck and forehead.. listen to some calm music, dont watch any exciting TV shows or the news before going to bed, take your TV out of your room, use soft lights.. take a bath if you can or at least a hot shower

the point is to calm yourself before bed...

Drink some calms teas in the afternoon...

Try to excercise in the mornings instead than in the afternoons

You have no idea how my life has changed, I have been doing this for a year now, and I havent had one single panic attack

I know how you feel, good luck!

Arizona makes a 'relax' tea that's actually quite good. It has herbal ingredients like valerian root that work well to calm your nerves (be careful with valerian as it's a powerful muscle relaxant, so start with small amounts and build up so you know your tolerances). There are also many herbal hot teas specifically for calming, so check your natural food stores.
