here is how to make a Swiss roll easy
you will need the following
3-oz self raising flour
3-oz caster sugar
two eggs
jam or lemon curd
whisk the eggs thoroughly, then add the sugar, and whisk together until the mixture has thickened.
with a knife, stir in the flour lightly.
grease a baking tray with sides of 1inch approx
and a size of 9 inches by 12 inches approx
spread the mixture onto the baking tray.
cook for 6 to 8 minutes at around 425o-450oF
or 210 in a modern oven
do not let it over cook or the mixture will crack when rolling
turn the mixture onto a sugared greased-proof paper or the rapping from a plain loaf of bread.
on the underside cover with the jam or lemon curd.
now roll the mixture slowly into a roll cover lightly with icing sugar if you wish for a better look or a little melted chocolate on the top.
hope this helps enjoy.
cheep and easy to make.

the most simple cake recipe in the world is the "triple 6-3"

6oz caster sugar (or granulated or soft brown)
6oz butter( or margarine)
6oz self raising flour
3 eggs
beat all together add any flavours you want like : cherries, coco powder choc chips etc ect ect
either divide into paper fairy cake cases or into 2 round 7/8 inch cake tins and bake at about 150-200 degrees C (depending on fan/non fan oven)
for 20-30 mins till golden on top and "springy to the touch"
ice or eat plain but always with a cup of tea!!!!!

Does it have to be cake? How about good ol' Toll House cookies?

Here's a suggestion that is a distinct improvement: Instead of the butter, substitute all-veg margarine. And instead of the egg, use a whole, very ripe, smashed banana (or a quarter-cup apple butter).

That way, you can nibble the raw dough (the best part about baking AND YOU KNOW IT!!!) and bake a batch of totally and completely delicious -- and ethical (no animal-derived ingredients) -- chocolate-chip cookies.

Have fun!

Castle cakes. Use candy canes, and other things to make a structured castle. Get a cookbook for children, and check the baking section on cakes. Make a cake using a cake pan the shape of cats head. When frosting it, use the color you like and coat w/ shredded coconut. Use licorice for whiskers, and licorice black button for eyes, things like that. Go to a store like Michaels or any other store for arts and crafts for cake pans, and ideas.

If you go down to the local supermarket they usually have a really good range of easy cook 'just ad water and an egg' type biscuits and cakes. My 4 year old loves these as he can do them himself just by pouring in the water etc and stirring. His favourites are Batman cookies and Scooby Doo chocolate lollipops.

Well this is not a cake but some cupcakes, you probably heard of this before but my godchildren love it! You put confetti cake mix (already prepared ) in flat bottom icecream cones and put them in a muffin pan to bake untill you can insert a toothpick in it and its clean, then after they cool you let the kids decorate how they want and it looks like icecream.

It depends on whether he will fit into a baking tray! Get it? Just joking.
You could try chocolate rice crispy, or chocolate conflake cakes - I think you just mix them with a bit of melted chocolate, they are so easy to do.
I used to make coconut pyramids and coconut ice with my mum - I will see if I can get the recipe from her and get back to you.
Or, what about a Swiss jam roll? Just sponge with jam.

I hope that helps an have fun:>)
