The last few times I have tried taking outside pictures with my digital camera, they look very overexposed--all ghost light and white. The indoor pictures still look fine as long as there is no light source whatsoever; if there is it makes whatever part of the picture it reaches fade out and become very light and halo-like. I can send an example if anyone would like to see what I'm trying to explain.
Thanks!

It sounds like you tweaked the settings for indoor shots and just left them there. Two things to check for are:
* Did you put the camera in fully Manaual exposure mode, or perghaps even on Shutter priority mode with a very slow shutter time.
* Did you change the EV setting (the default is 0)
