Rub toothpaste all over the shiny metallic side of the CD. Rub the toothpaste in really good. Then, rinse it off with warm water. Pat it dry with a very soft towel or material. Try your CD or DVD again, make sure it is completely dry, if it isn't you could damage your player.

You can try dish washing liquid and warm water. Then pat dry with a soft towel.
However that won't repair a badly scratched CD or DVD. You could try a fixer, but it would probably be cheaper to buy a new one.

Add a generous amount of peanut butter to the CD or DVD then let it sit for about 5 mins then wipe it off completely. That should do the trick.

Good question, well one day i was surfing around the internet, and I found some website that said that you fix scratched cds by buying some sort of "metal polish" and put a lil bit in it and just start rubbing it in the scratch...... and then wit a soft cloth wipe it off and supposedly its like new.... i never tried it, so try that at ur own risk....

Mmmm...
As a gamer, I have this problem alot...
Go to the store and vbuy glass'es whipes, glass'es spray, and rubbing Alcahol(They Glass'es should be in the medical seclection of wallmart, and the acohal should be eihter in the toilet or meds section too...
Spray a Glass'es dry whipe with some glass'es srapy, and rub it around.
After that, get just a plain glass'es whipe, and whipe the disk off.
Then, try it, look at your disk, if you can still see littles amrks on it, take a q-tip, put it in the rubbing acohal, and just tab it on the mark, then take a Glass'es cleaner whipe and whipe it off.
If that dosen't work, the disk is ruined.

Blockbuster told me to use windex on the DVD when it skipped in the player. Just be careful doing that.
