There is a beach right at the end of the canal right near the Marina across from the Ala Moana Mall. you can't miss it.

It depends where on Ala Moana Blvd.

But the wonderful thing about beach in Hawaii. It is all public. No one owns the beach, up to a certain high water mark. Which leaves lots of sand for everyone.
