It depends on what passport you are holding
US and Europeans and some Asian countries do not need transit visa

But some countries need
Even if you are not going out of the airport - you need to take a visa
For eg- if you are an Indian and you are travleing to any US or UK or any other Schengen state you don't need
But if you are travelling to Swiss and any latin american country - you need a transit visa
Please check with the travel agent for more info

What kind of passport do you have???
As far as I understaand. US used to accept people CONNECT thou US AIRPORTS w/o a visa.. but due to security.. they don't take transiter w/o visa anymore...
Europe is another country.. If you have a US passport, you don't need a visa for transit.. Otherwise, you should have ask the embassy b4 travelling.. I'm sure you don't wanna waste the tkt if they're gonna send you back home.
