Ages ago in a R.E. lesson we were all discussing that priests aren't allowed to have sex before marriage, basically all the sins involving relationships and sex because it's a sin in gods eyes. Anyway we then went onto the subject that maybe this was why there's cases of choirboys etc.. getting molested by these priests because they were sexually frustrated and things like that. So, why do they feel that god thinks this is alright? If priests were true priests then they wouldn't do this. If priests are gonna sin and molest boys then why not go the full mile and just have it with a woman? Cos you're sinning anyway. Btw i'm not religious and not knocking it. Hope the Q's understandable...

First, it's not only priests who have molested children. secondly - all child perversions are wrong and highly offensive in the eyes of God.
the majority of priests in the Roman Catholic (Rcc) Church are single and choose celibacy. It is a choice. they do not have to be a priest if they want the physical relationship with a woman. They can still be a deacon and serve the Rcc well. There are (by now) about 200 married Rcc priests. These men were Protestant, married and some with children, who joined the Rcc.
Orthodox catholics can marry if they are married before they become a priest.
men that molest children (or women) are the most vile sinners as they corrupt the fully uncorrupted. the priests and other religious tha have done this have done so because they are sick (and i mean sick in the head) for no one in their right mind would do this. those priests that were convicted have been removed. however there were also many that were unjustly judged based upon false accusations.
molestation of children is not only an Rcc thing -- it's in the world as a whole and in all other denominations.
I thank you for your graciousness in the way you phrased your question & understand by you not being religious, why you would pinpoint the Rcc : )

From your explanation of the question, you seem to be confusing what "makes it alright" in the eyes of the offending priest and what "makes it alright" in the eyes of the rest of the church.
Sexual perpetrators have several ways to justify their actions, and because they almost never discuss their ideas with anyone else, many times they convince themselves that they have the right to do what they are doing. It makes no difference whether the molester is a priest or not. The logic they engage in can be quite convoluted, narcissistic, and self-serving.
However, sexual perpetration on minors or anyone else does not come from celibacy, but rather the vow of celibacy may attract people who are sexually immature. (I'm not directing this toward all priests, but rather suggesting that for some celibacy offers an opportunity to avoid dealing with their sexual energy.) These people would have a difficult time dealing with the shame of having adult sexual relationships. If the church wants to attract people who are sexually mature, they might (although there's no guarantee) do better by allowing priests to marry.
Finally, the church became so defensive about the damage that it was causing that the leaders denied to themselves and to the world that it was a serious problem. This happens all the time when people don't want to deal with something difficult. Although denial works for a while, eventually we all must pay the piper. The Church is paying out big bucks for their failure to protect children from people they knew to have a problem. I don't think they believe it was alright, and every indication is that they are going to try to keep pedophile priests out of the parishes.

HELLO are you there? God doesn't approve of this ( who told you that). Some people have a gift from God of celibacy. These persons would be able to work in these positions like the Apostle Paul. And these priest are downright pedophiles who were probably not called into the priesthood( the office of). Pedophilia has nothing to do with wanting to have sex with women. These men and sometimes women have a desire to have sex with adolescents.

NOTHING makes it "alright" for priests to molest children. If anything, because of their position as God's representative to these kids, their acts are even MORE reprehensible (if that were possible) than your ordinary every day child molester. Guys who do these things make me wish, sometimes, that I could believe in an eternal hell....
You have a point, though. If the RCC would just let their preachers get married...Paul did say that it is better to marry than to burn!!

This so call types of priest, are not priest in my eyes. How can they serve God knowing what they do to children, If they know God then they wouldn't be doing what their doing, knowing God knows all things, so their faith isn't very strong, and they shouldn't be using being a priest as a front in order to be with children.

I am not Catholic, but as far as I know they don't feel it's "alright" they know it's a sin, and attempt to hide it. If you've noticed none of these priests are bragging about it from what I can see. In all churches I have been to the head of the church could be married, so this tends to not be an issue in protestant sects.

It is never alright for anyone to molest anyone else, much less priests molesting boys. They will get their punishment!
Vengenance is mine saith the Lord.
I personally think that many of the people that enter the priesthood are doing it to "escape" or "hide" from society, because they would not make it without a place to hide.

your absolutly right, priests have no right to molest boys and if theyre going to sin anyways they should do it with a woman! It probably is just fustration who knows but if they know the bible then they also know God will punish them severly and hopefuly hard enough for it to never happen again! (maybe the punishment will be when they are sent to jail they will get what they did to the boys in return)

A tree is known by the fruit it bares. If it walk like a duck and talk like a duck then please believe its a duck. Everybody that say that they are called by God to preach isn't always called by God. There are false prophet, false teachers, and there is also the antichrist. The devil can also get up in the church and preach a sermon and thats where alot of christians are decieved. Know the spirit by the spirit.......
