Depends where residency is established. If the father lives in South Africa, but the mother lives in Britain with the child, then yes, the child would probably be a Brit. But, if the mother travels to South Africa and stays for a certain (not sure how long) amount of time and then returns to her Homeland, then the baby is more than likely eligible for duel citizenship, if the parents were willing to go through that process.

I am an old git so trust me. The ans is YES.
You are the nationality of the the country you are born in, The nationality of your parents is irrelevant. How ever. You are able to apply for a south African passport because your father was born there. You can apply for dual nationality for that country if you wish. This will not affect your British passport. I hope this helps, Nick. An old Git.

Yes Johnathan, the said baby is a Brit citizen. If this is real the baby, if it's a boy, should be called Bob. Everything should be called Bob

Yes, any child born in the UK is a British citizen. As long as the birth is registered in the UK that is.

I'm not sure I thought that it went off the Fathers citizenship as i know that some countries have a policy that a baby without parents of that country, born in that country does not automatically get citizenship. You may have to apply or you may be able to get dual citizenship, but go to the registry office to find out.

Yes, of course. I was born here of mixed parentage, I am and always have been British! I have never applied for dual nationality though.
