No, not at the moment. The 400D is around £250 more expensive. However this is probably because the camera stores are trying to get rid of their old stock. The srp however is cheaper suggesting that eventually the price of the 400D may fall below that of the 350D.

No. It is not cheaper.

400D with kit lens is being launched at 799 USD. Without the kit lens it is 699USD. You can get the 350D at about 570 USD.

The 400 D has more megapixels (10 megs as oppose to 8 of 350D), has got a anti dust mechanism and lots of other features.
It is better and slightly expensive. However, the 400D is priced less than Nikon and Sony's offerings.

The estimated strreet price will be $900. You can currently pick up a 350D for $700.
This price increase seems fair enough for the extra 2MP, the automatic sensor cleaning, etc., and considering the Nikon D80 will retail for $1000.

added: I just noticed that B&H have lowered the price of the 350D to $650 since the announcement of the 400D.

It appears it may be a step up from the 350D but the 400D is NOT a full-frame 35mm.
