Mexico's government is ridiculously corrupt, which means a few rich people get richer, while the majority of the people remain poor. That's why illegals are trying to get here in the first place, our economy is much stronger, and there's less corruption.

In some ways Mexico is a rich county. It has the highest per capita income in Latin American and the 10th largest economy in the world. However, it has extreme poverty and inequity, with an estimated 50 percent of the population living in poverty.
Mexico has made dramatic leaps in their development since the 1995-1996 financial crisis, when almost 64 percent of the population lived in poverty, but that progress has been slower than some have liked. The government is aiming to reduce poverty by more than half in the next ten years.
Unskilled labor is part of what is needed to keep an economy functioning and growing. The United States has a labor shortage that has been filled through an informal back channel. Unless the fertility rate increases dramatically, the United States will need to rely on immigration to fully meet its labor needs (both skilled and unskilled) over the next century. If those immigrants do not come from Mexico, they will come from a different part of the world.

That's funny; you make Mexico sound just like the USA. Full of unskilled labor, lots of oil-- maybe people should be begging us to send them our citizens.
Fyi: the CIA World Factbook ranks Mexico as the number 14 country in purchasing power. Of course, they've got 'World' as #1, and they list the EU both as seperate countries and together, so really Mexico would be #12. According to the US State Department, there are 193 countries in the world, so I would think that number 12 is pretty good. In fact, I would think that makes Mexico rich! Does that mean you're wrong?

Mexico is rich , I believe they are in the top 10 wealthiest countries in the world. The problem is Mexico would rather use their people for tools, the print information on " How to survive in the U.S. illegally." , Then they give them no choice but to risk their lives to come here illegally.
Then their is Hispanic civil rights leaders and organizations such as La Raza and MEChA ( that are the equivalent to a Hispanic KKK) that tell the Mexican people all kinds of lies to make them believe the U.S. southern states belong to Mexico.
The Mexican people need education, and then they need to revolt against their government. I belive this needs to happen to secure peace between the citizens of both countries.

Uh....Last year illegal aliens sent over $7,000,000,000 dollars to family and relatives in Mexico. That's right...seven billlllllyun!!! And....as shocking as it may be....very few of them pay any income tax on their earnings nor do they contribute to Social Security.
To understand what seven billlllyunnns means. Start spending seven million dollars a year and it would take you a thousand years to spend it all.

The rich there are very rich. The third richest man in the world lives there. They would just rather have us pay for universal education and health care for their poor than pay for it themselves. Their poor find it easier to come here and steal education from our children and health care from our sick than to change their own government. We need to stop making it so easy.

Mexico has the same problem we do, and we are sinking to their level fast!
Mexico sells us 1/3 of our oil!
There are the rich, then there are the poor! And I am sure their elections were about the same as ours!

What a dumb question..because they're poor. We pay less money to them to do hard work.
If Mexico were a first world country, the problem of "illegal immigration" would be solved
