Shouldn't the question be who was with them? After all He does say, "LET US make man in OUR IMAGE...".
The word translated "God" in Genesis is the word "Elohyim". It is a plural version of the word Eloah.
Consider this quote out of JOB:
Job 38:4-7 (New International Version)
4 "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?
Tell me, if you understand.
5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?
6 On what were its footings set,
or who laid its cornerstone-
7 while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels shouted for joy?
This word "angels" (some versions say "sons of God") is also the word "Elohyim".
So perhaps He was talking to the Elohyim.
God Bless,
Robert

There ar a few possiblilities. Be aware that often from Genesis-Malachi the word translated God, was in the Hebrew language Elohiym; which is plural. So there easily could have been male and female spirits present at that saying.

He was talking to His humanity.. coz He was speaking as if everything is all taking place on that time because He said in His Word He was the Christ who was slain and was there even before the foundation of the world so it means He knows what's goin to happen and He's speakin about it on that time when He decided to create man..

my question exactly!!!!
i sometimes feel that there are other gods. in the 10 commandments god says: thou shalt have no other gods before me..
well then there are other gods???
i mean i know that anything we put before god can be an idol or god. like money, sports, tv etc.
but ive often wandered if jesus was in heaven with god at the beginning??
i really dont think anyone can know this answer.
maybe god has a wife??
some believe that.
i think maybe our god created us. but maybe other gods created other planets etc.
and some say that god, jesus and the holy spirit are one.
one god. well if so why was jesus praying to himself in the garden before he was arrested.
surely he is not multpersonalitys??
alot doesnt make sense. but i have had many prayers answered.
i beleive in god 100% and jesus.
but who was with him in the creation??
only god really knows.

Are you serious about this question? Do you honestly believe that the medieval Englishman who translated the Bible for King James really accurately and correctly translated the ancient text that was written by Jews, who openly admit that the whole of the Old Testament should not be taken literally? Why do Christians swear by this, when the people who wrote it say that it's not to be taken literally?

It supposedly refers to the Holy Trinity: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

Well according the John chapter one, Jesus. They were there together. Plus, "Christ was crucified for the sins of the earth before creation" so that leads me to conclude that either 1. God had a mouse in his pocket or 2. He was talking to Jesus.
Another possibility. pronouns are pretty vague in Hebrew.

God is so BIG ! Yet in our fraility we try to explain these things. Thank God we don't have to know these things to be saved ,but the love drives us to always want to know more. The commission given to the church was to "...teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,and of the Holy Ghost."Matthew 28:19 b,c. We have but one God who is thrree in one. This is difficult for us to understand with the temperal mind but with the spiritual mind nothing is impossible with God.It says when a man and woman are married "...And they twain (two) shall be one flesh." Matthew19:5 c.Before my wife and I come to know the Lord our marriage was a disaster. Our love was for self .The Bible says that a woman is to be in subjection to the man ,which really needent not be mentioned sad to say even ungodly men quote this to their own shame not relizing what they are supposed to do."Husbands ,love your wives ,even as Christ also loved the church;and gave himself for it;Ephesians 5:25.Serving God became our focal point .For her to not submit; or for me not to love her as Gods word said didn't mean we where at odds with one another, but that we where at odds with God.We both could find plenty of reasons for not submitting one to another but could we really disobey God.Even though God gave us the choice we still chose Gods way which brings us two into being one in mind and spirit. When we think like Him we come into agreement because our focus is on Him.Also when I love Her as God wants me to She doesn't seem to have a problam with submitting .Just another one of His rewards.I believe God is talking to Jesus and the Holy Ghost."And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world."1 John 4:14.Jesus told the pharises that Abraham rejoiced at His coming John 8:56-58,Now read Gen.18 and be mindful that no man has seen God at anytime and lived.God bless you and please remember that we are all just learning and that the most and only thing we really need to know is the plan of salvation .
